Is anyone here having trouble with the air freezing on a prostar. Seems to be secondary system only so far. Mickey mouse air dryer seeems to be the main culprit. If you`re having trouble with your truck, what are you doing to thaw it out. No bottle on truck and yes the tanks are being drained on a regular basis.

    Thanks Muff

You can always pour a little methyl-hydrate straight into the line off the compressor if there is no bottle to add it to the system. One wrench, 2 minutes, jobs done.

its not my Mickey haha. Its a lease unit and I`m sure you know how that goes. They would like to kill a couple of hours coming to get ya on the side of the road than actually fix the propblem before it costs them an arm and a leg.. we`ve got 6 units same made in mexico dryer. They finally swapped dryer on my previous truck with a Bendix dryer. That unit is fine now. Thanks for your input

Thats a good trick. Remember one thing its almost a guarantee to kill your air drier desiccant cartridge. And if that spews those little beads into the system it won't be cheap to fix.
