well I am not saying they are bad...just gonna give some info and let you decide if this is somewhere you would wanna work.

we used to work for them back in 05 for a short period of time and left for personal reasons (daughter) so we thought we would give them a try again.

when we went to pu our trk it was disgusting and we refused to get in it til it was detailed....the pet urine odor slapped you in the face when you opened the door...so they had us take it to volvo to have it cleaned. well they charged for it...to vacuum the floor...we spec req the carpet and all upol. be shampooed not just vacuumed....anyway thats not landspans fault...they did try but didnt offer to rectify when we told then it hadnt been done properly.

anyway got the trk back the next day....didnt smell half bad...thats only cuz they had left the sleeper windows open....got in it, and took back to truck stop, spent an additional 15 hrs cleaning....including hubby cleaning out animal waste out of closets....scrubbed carpet with pet odor stain remover several times and put down 2 boxes of baking soda..then put rubber backed bath mats over it and air fresh. everywhere.

now if you went and looked at a motel or a house like this...would you stay there ???? can u see on of the higher ups sleeping a NIGHT in those cond???? cabinet doors we RIPPED of the cabinets..drawers wouldnt stay closed and fell out when u made a turn...needed new steer tires..generator wouldnt work..ALL of this was reported to maint. he said, we will deal with it at one of our shops...

so we did a short load, then a coast load....started having more vibration in the front end...steer tires were getting BAD...to the point of NOT passing insp. so we went into TA and they auth tires..BUT wanted shop to put TRAILER TIRES on for steer tires..husband said NO WAY...anyway got that handled...then trk started overheating...had plenty of coolant...(the egr cooler was going out didnt kow that yet tho) del San Fran area then dh to LA....got load picked up, 40 mi later trk shut down...low coolant ...no warning..nothing....couldnt see a leak when parked etc...stopped added more...40 mi later same thing...anyway, went back to fontana shop..got there on a fri...wouldnt even look at trk til monday...ok i know breakdown happens...have had a new trk that the 1st wk blew 2 injectors...so it happens....asked for a motel, since u arent sup to idle and apu didnt work...they said no....but will give u keys to a spare driver ready truck...i said " yeah like this one was right?" no thanks....so finally monday comes they put trk in shop asked again for a motel they told us NO even tho it was gonna be in the shop til at LEAST the next day....so i called in and asked whats the deal...they told us that "sure anytime we can save money on a room and let you sleep in another truck they are going to do so, instead of $70 a night for a room"....

we have NEVER been treated this way...we complained about the condition of the truck...got blown off....the filth and animal waste, the cabinets etc...blown off....motel for breakdown...blown off......got out of shop and 2 days...no load....so we quit....and there we SEVERAL other drivers there at yard ALL looking for another job for the very same if not WORSE conditons of the truck than we had....we had 12 people in orientation 2 solos the rest team...1 solo and 1 team from class were there.. BROKE DOWN and they were quiting too...all within A WK...even the shop will tell you, that the trucks spend more time in the shop than running....the choice is yours but dont say you werent warned....:biggrin_25513:

oh yeah, you also have to pay a cleaning deposit of $62.50 per driver per wk for 4 wks...plus a $400.00 pet deposit...

Boy! Ya'll have more patience and toleration than I do. There is no way that I would even spent one hour on this piece of "waste" and you spent more than 15 hours trying to clean it up. I don't suspect that Landspan paid you for this:biggrin_25513:

My wife and I worked for them in '08 for a MONTH. Rode 4400 miles in a MONTH. Of course, fuel was through the roof, but still.

After a great orientation and taking the rental car to chase our truck, the truck wasn't bad at all, got our first load from Cincinatti to Fontana... got to Fontana and everyone was BBqing, like a big family reunion.

I thought "cool"...this is great. The rest of the story was that the drivers waiting in Fontana had pressured the staff into AT LEAST buying them meals while they waited for a load. We waited for FOUR days for a load, couldn't idle the truck, over 100 degrees out, didn't get a motel until the last day when people started passing out from heat exhaustion.

Yessir, she's no longer driving, I'm doing the solo thing, looking to buy my own truck or partner in a small company with my buddy. Between him (experienced owner/op), my wife (dispatcher/broker) and me (up on the legal mumbo jumbo and can sell ice cubes to Eskimos), we have a turn key outfit looking for a short-term investor.

everything that giggles says about Landspan is true... So far we have had 2 to 3 teams quit since this weekend. A couple of solo's have quit as well. We will be leaving before the 1st.

They DO NOT pay for Breakdown, layover, detention.. If they do, you have to fight for it and bug them til they do. We got there on Saturday, did a local on Monday and now we are heading to Vegas! WOOO HOOO 300 miles!! which comes out to almost $60 each... we are in the money.. LOL

They might be able to route us through Phoenix for Christmas and then maybe back to terminal to quit...

    Beejay

Trucks are governed at 65. Hometime depends but you are usually out 2 to 3 weeks.
