I appreciate all the info, checking out more companys lately and waiting to start school. Not to worried bout being home on the weekends, just hoping to make money, after some experience there is a lot of local jobs around the bigger citys (columbus, indy) so not too worried, just worried about making it the first year. Sounds like some trainers suck but hope to get a decent one that will just teach me how to drive safely. Ill keep callin and reading and just have to try a company and hope for the best. Seems like every company has two sides to it. Sixpack.

Let me let all you guys know that I have gone through the tmc orientation class and at this time am out on the road with a trainer. The 2 week orientation was one of the hardest things i have donewe started with 48 in our class and 23 of us made it to trainers. I hear a lot of bad things about tmc but take about 5% of what you hear on the internet cut it in half and believe that. the only thing i believe and agree with on here is yes tmc is a flatbed trucking company. yes orientation was tough but they give you every oppurtunity to be succesful. good meals and accomidations for the 2 weeks as long as you improve you will make it through i am very happy and proud to be part of the tmc team lets see 3 days out of school $150000 tractor and trailer $250000 worth of product im not gonna give the keys to someone that cant handle the stress they want to know what type of a person you are hot head and ####y will get you a bus ticket home my first week on the road i had almost 1700 miles in and loved every minute tmc is tough but they reward you for it to if you slack your paycheck will show it if i had to do it again tmc all the way i stand proud when i pull into a truck stop with my black and chrome KEEP IT UP TMC

Dude, you just got started. You have no business giving any advise until you have been there at least a few months. I know nothing about TMC but know about all the BS they try to brainwash into you at orientation. Please do everyone a favor and reply to this thread in 6 months. I will be waiting for it. :biggrin_25525:

It cost almost 17 a month for prepass, and 25 or so for pre pass plus (some tolls roll on by they will bill you) not every green light.

I am trying to make an informed decision on weather or not to appy at TMC. I have 10 years driving experience with dump trucks / trailers, tank, hopper, flat, rgn, landoll, oversied etc. work for a farmer who has his hands into everything but benifits. I am just curious about the basics .... pay, home time, benifits, etc. I see the do have an specialized division hauling john deere products, do you have to be there for a certian period of time before they let you haul that stuff? Any viable information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time

Well I'll put it this way, they take care of there equipment real good when i was there. I will tell u that there pct pay program is a joke, there are several variables to it, to name one is if u don't get high enough revenue to the trk they will drop your pct pay. I believe if truck isn't getting high enough revenue that would be companies problem.

Don't knock the TMC newbie Mr 2 yrs experience. He already has a better attitude then 90% of the deadbeat, welfare "I can't afford to sit, blah blah, I can't pay for my house, I need an advance but if I was working at McDonald's I'd be in the same crappy situation redneck" truckers on here so I say, Thumbs Up TruckerMike. I wouldn't mind seeing an update in a couple months either though.
