I would like to know, (honestly) what is it with Referidgerated trailers? Why would anyone want to pull refers? Dry van seems so easy, why drive with an extra engine, its double problems!? I have pulled refers twice, but Im considered dry van division and I cant see any benefit in pulling a refer or flat flatbed.... Anyways, have a happy holiday and drive safe!

Easy, if I am pulling a reefer, then I can haul freight that a dryvan cannot. Also, when I get to a grocery warehouse I know I can take a nap while the lumpers do their thing. And, when dryvan freight dies in about a month, the reefer freight will slow down, but will still keep most drivers busy.
Me personally, I liked pulling reefers, just the company I was working for had no idea how to dispatch a team. Go figure.

Refer's.... Well, with a reefer, I can haul either cold or drygoods.
Most reefer units are pretty easy to use. The older ones are a bit touchy.
As for the headaches, none really. Just keep the tank on the trailer filled, and the reefer unit running when it needs to be. Other than that, it's the same as running a dry van.

I've pulled both, I will only do reefer from now on. reason,,everyone has to eat. reefer slows down during the holidays but still rolls. the noise is minimal unless you have an old Carrier, fuel stops no big deal, tank lasts for 3 days on continuous, longer on cycle mode.Except for walmart more shippers/receivers have parking on site. and i dont have to drive around looking for empty trailers.
