Hey dude...unless you know him personally how would you know what does or why?Seriously who does not want to look good rolling down the road AND make decent money doing it?
I have to agree that companies that take care of thier equipment usually take care of thier drivers.I personally would rather drive a really nice truck as it is worth something to me and as for putting money in a drivers pocket if the company gets better loads and better paying loads because of thier apperance and reputation then it can put something in your pocket.
More to my point I believe he was just asking a question to get some talk going on what companies had really nice trucks,so if that is not your thing then why not overlook this thread?I agree that Western Dist. has some really nice looking trucks, even TMC have some nice equipment.

boars head provisions, clubcar, lnr cattle company, cant even see the trailer cause of the stretched frame,my god
-
The shine on the truck has nothing to do with the size of the drivers paycheck...
-
yeah but it fair to say,if the company doesnt have the money to look good, well pay probably sucks too
-
And if they spent all their money making the truck look good.... then who is going to pay for repairs when they are needed?Big Red Thanks this.
-
ohh redd, ive heard mercer drivers have no choice but to look pretty, jason says they will pull our lease or was it tim comstock.plus our freight is great huh.........but this all about the company shiny trucks see ya around redd
-
I've heard that too from many of people who I know that are leased on here.... I heard if there is a little chip, they want you to get a new paint job.
So... If it comes down too it. I'll cancel my lease if needed. My truck doesn't look to bad. But I do have some rock chips around the grille... Or are they those bug chips... You know those nasty bugs that splatter everywhere & you actually take the paint off to get the bugs off....
But me personally.... I'd much rather have a ugly truck that moves down the highway making money instead of a pretty truck that is broke down in the driveway. I've dumped over $20,000 this year on mechanical maintnance. I'm hoping 2011 is better... And if it is, then maybe I can afford to get a paint job.
Most companies count profits on pennies.... Including Owner Operators like myself. So where do you want those pennies to go? Into a worn out turbo? Or chrome & chicken lights? -
OK.....NOW that I have your attention.....sometimes it takes getting that before somebody wants to answer a simple question or two.
First of all.....I don't drive junk. My truck is very reliable, clean most of the
time when the roads are dry and I haven't had to run in mud for a week and it doesn't smell............EVER.
My point is that it ISN'T a shiny W9 or 379.....doesn't have a lot of chicken lights and hardly any chrome and it won't get what it has polished.......point here is it doesn't have to have any of those things
to get the job done.
Am I proud of how my truck looks......I don't need to be. I'm not in this
to be proud of somebody elses truck. I'm sure the man that owns it is
proud of it, but to me.......It's simply a tool that is provided to me
that helps me earn a living and makes a profit for the company.
Every truck on the road is just that.....a TOOL to get a job done and generate
a profit for the company.
Does that statement make any sense???
What I DO take PRIDE in is the job I do for the company and the paycheck
I bring home at the end of the weeks work.
You did get at least one thing right. I could care less about what another
driver or anybody else THINKS about what I'm driving......they're not the
one that's paying my bills.......their opinion doesn't matter nor does it count.Raiderfanatic and RW. Thank this. -
All that is true......but he's already on record in another thread where he's
asked pretty much the same questions..........
His experience is enough to land a really well paying local job right in the
Dallas/Ft Worth area.
I know where such a job exists......however the truck is the most important thing
according to our friend because he wants to look good rolling down the
highway.........I guess more than anything else..........but..........
Sadly.....a shiny W9 just isn't part of the deal.....just a good paycheck.
Likewise he doesn't want to run West or North.
Pretty much leaves out Western Dist.........TMC too........ -
I've seen companies have awesome new shiny trucks but paid their drivers poorly because most of the money went into the truck payments!
I try and take pride in my truck, my career and all that goes with it. It's a direct reflection on me. I own my truck and trailer though. I'm not a company driver. When you're a company driver, it's not your equipment and you're less likely to care for it as much as an owner operator like me would. This is just MY observation... of course yours may vary.
