Whats stopping you Mr. Bear? Although you work on the enforcement side, you are still welcome to join.

And to be honest with you.... I believe you are the only Diesel Bear who is actually on the side of the truckers.... Sure you work in enforcement but you also take your time to attempt to edumacate us dummies!!!

by the way, the paid membership to OOIDA the Land Line magazine has more pages in it. the "free" Land Line magazine any driver can get when you do not subscribe is missing those extra pages......

you can still get insurance from them if you want the extra coverage, like for dental i believe......

And the best part.... He can use anyone elses member number & sign up for his first year for only $25. Then he can renew every december during the truckers for troops promotion for only $25....

I don't see no harm with him becoming a member. I actually endorse it!

Since ac120 has already posted him member number, I'll just quote his post.

Do we use ac120's member number in the new OOIDA membership form application or the renew membership form? The reason I ask is because I do not see a place to put the member number (only a promo code box).

While filling out the form. You will see a referred by section. Insert the member number of the person who referred you.

I also see that the $25 truckers for troops special is now good until 1/31/2011.

    ac120 Thanks this.

I was a member, let it lapse, my only gripe with them is that they don't always pay attention to things that happen on a state by state level, and don't always get involved.
When the debate/discussion was going on here in Colo. about the massive increase in fines for the chain law, OOIDA was nowhere to be found. OOIDA, CMCA (Colo. Motor Carrier Assoc.) were strangely silent. CMCA did finally get involved after the law was passed to help make some changes to it. The same back in the late '90's when Co. passed the mudflap law and the muffler law for semi's. Neither group was present, the only time I can really recall them getting involved was when Vail tried to pass an ordinance prohibiting the use of all engine brakes on I-70 from MM182 to MM 170.
