Whether everything posted here is true or not is irrelevant.I have read to many posts concerning the Mega-Carriers and their treatment of drivers that if even 40% of it is true,well,it IS 3rd World slave labor... When I started this OTR 7 yrs ago,I contacted Werner wanting to work for them and gain experience (I did NOT have a clue)and,believe it or not,what SAVED me was a DUI from 1987 & 1982...Kinda ironic,huh?,otherwise I would have been one of those poor ######## posting on here....Anyway,fact is,from what I read on these Mega Carrier S#itholes,and again,even if only 40% true,these guys,(and gals) would be better off working for a fast food restaurant,janitor,dishwasher,ANYTHING than be treated as a sub-human 3rd class citizen....I ONLY wish I had the power,or knew how,to put to a end this kind of outrageous B.S.!! I apologize if I got a little windy here,its not usually my way....

 

While I understand that many big carriers treat their people no better than cattle, I saw, with my own eyes (at my last company), many drivers who were not motivated to work, just wanted a warm place to sleep and $300-400 per week in wages, which was more than they were making flipping burgers.

I'd say that easily 70-80% of the drivers at my last company couldn't hit their butt with both hands, much less do 2500-3000 miles a week, on time, clean logs, etc. So before my heart starts bleeding for anyone, I know that there are people who drag their backsides, then complain about not making any money.

 

This is one of the reasons we recommend to new drivers to stay away from the mega-carriers! Stuff like this happens all the time. If you don't want to get bit by the snake, then don't play with it! There are too many good, reputable companies out there to even considering messing with these guys. I know that you new guys think we are just bashing or being negative, which I am sure some guys do, however this is the kind of stuff that they pull on drivers. You are just a number and when they are done with you they will dispose of you. Have you ever heard of a company that has to spend millions of dollars in advertising to get you to work for them? This alone should be a red flag. If things are that bad that they have to advertise to get employees then that is a good sign the road ahead is not going to be good. Either that or drivers are driving off into a blackhole and need to be replaced.

 

Well who is going to hire the MULTITUDE of wanabee truck drivers if not for the MEGA CARRIERS.

So many jump into truck driving as its going to be the saviour of their future with no idea whats involved.

You read story after story on here ( some are true and just as many made up ) , of desperate and broke people who think that in a few weeks they are going to have it made.

Couples who fantacize about running team in a new truck and making MEGA dollars running where they want , solos dreaming of the regional / local job after 2 months of OTR , others going to buy or lease a truck and run it THEIR WAY.

Your different stories do not add up..

 

Okay, I have to admit to my confusion as well. I looked at post history and found this name has been used in talking smack about no fewer than 6 different companies. Additionally, there are at least two, possibly three very distinctive writing styles.

I do believe we have a genuine case of Multiple Personality Disorder here. I, for one, am fascinated and can't wait to see more.

 

ALL right,I stand by my earlier post about Mega carriers.....In a thread that was cancelled earlier today on this forum,I just recieved a P.M. fom the author of that thread...he tried to do an insult,but really,it was laughable.

Kids are expensive these days. If you can't afford them why have them ?????? answer: robbery of honest working people like most here.
