ptrbilt: I was wondering what company you ended up going to work for? Was it Crete? I am in the cleveland area as well. I just recently graduated from Great Lakes TDS and got my CDL. Crete is one on the top of my list and I already got the approval to work for them. I haven't made my final decision yet. I know my training would be in Columbus and for a long 8 weeks. Any information would be greatly appreciated like how it went and hometime and all the usual info a newbie would like to know. Thanks.

And tut; any more info that you have on Crete would be much appeciated also. I need to make my final decision very very soon. I've been done with school and my cdl for 2 wks and don't want to miss any great opportunities. Thanks.

Just an observation: I travel I-90 between Cleveland area and Erie, PA quite a bit. I see a LOT of Crete trucks. Conversely, I have only seen a handful of Roehl trucks and, as it turns out, Roehl is the company I'm getting ready to sign on with.

That is good to know. Thanks for the info. Hopefully that means I might be able to slip by home during the week. Maybe. Roehl turned me down, but couldn't give me a reason why.?????

I don't know much about Transport America however Crete is a really good company if you can get on with them.

I did get accepted to go to Crete. I didn't make my final decision yet. But they are high on my list. I don't see very many negative posts here about them. I'm Just unsure about their long 8 week training. That's a long time to be away from home. But that's probably who I'm gonna go with. Unless by some miracle that unbelievable high paying local job poses its opportunity to me.(ya,I know, dreaming). Any more info about them from anyone would be great.

Should be no nay-sayers. Crete is a good company and they are offering a good deal. Good Luck.

I did the 8-week thing. not near as bad as I expected. Got along well w/trainer and the 8 weeks flew by. Training pay also a lot better than others. Been with Crete a little over 2 years now. Good Luck:biggrin_25520:
