yes sir it does, there isnt just one "road test" they take you out on the road multiple times during the 10 days and put you in differant situations, City driving, mountian driving, etc

Check out the Watkins Shepard section we post allot about working here!

I just got an email from w/s that I can start their 10 day course on 10JAN11. I've done a ton of research on them and fully understand how they work and they are great to start out as a newbie. My question is how long did you have to wait to get your own truck? I've learned that there are some drivers ridding around with a driver waiting to get their own truck and only getting paid 50 bucks a day.

2 of the guys in my orientation group (4 of us) got their truck day of orientation, 1 rode with another guy to Cali where his truck was. (got paid as a team) I got mine about 4 days after, I went home first. Where did you learn your info from? I'd suggest calling and getting it straight from the horses mouth rather then rumor.

Not a rummor. I was told by the recuiter that if there wasn't a truck ready that they I would be paid 50.00 a day till they found me a truck. Also I know of a student that just completed the 10 day course and was told that his truck was waiting for him here in Lakewood Wa. When he arrived here the truck he was to get had a driver in it and is now ridding around with that driver getting paid that 50 bucks a day while the driver gets all the miles right now.

totally agree with you about w/s. I'm not at all trying to put down a great company. This is just something I learned about the other day and just wanted to hear from someone who works there.

This is the first I've heard of it. You'd think they would run them as team.... when I caught my ride from Vancouver to Modesto to get my rig that's what we did and got paid team miles.
