The better idea in my opinion is: Shut down every Monday, go to work T,W,T,F,S,S so folks can still make a paycheck. Start 34hr rule on Sunday. We all need at least 1 day a week off. We will call Monday "National Truck Driver Day Off" 1 Monday will put shippers behind 3 mos. 1 Monday without buying fuel will cost oil companies billions. Also, tell them CSA2010 needs to go bye bye. If we can do this every Monday till our needs get met, we will be in better shape. Remember DRIVERS, Together we have more power the the Pres of The United States.

Maybe forum members should refrain from postin' after being a member for a certain period of time?
Then again, it's said that if we don't remember the past, it can adversely affect our future.
Past history has a knack of repeatin' itself.
    Reminders are a good thing.

Wisdom is wisdom no matter how old it is. When wisdom has been around for awhile, it doesn't become stale. It could become wiser, improving with age, ---- like fine wine.
One question I've never heard in a winery tastin' room is, ---
    HeY!
    Y'all got any FRESH wine?
This stuff y'all been givin' me has been around for years.
(Addin' to it's value, I might add) :yes2557:

Before decidin' which course to set for the future,
it's not a bad idea to consult the past.

If it's a useful thread I see no problem with resurrecting it. It's the threads like this that really are just a spat waiting to happen that drive us nuts.:biggrin_25522:

The problem with the transportaton industry is the uneducated, foolish troublemakers who think they sound intelligent or funny by undercutting those trying to make a difference. Truckmedic, quit being devisive and try to act as if you were taught some manners. If July is the time I'm in.

What is the definition of "useful"
    and who defines it?
I went back more than a year ---- and didn't detect any spat.
As long as a spat is waitin' to happen, it's behaving.
    That's a good thang.
Why should the non-spatters be deprived if a spat spits?
Just throw the spatter outta the picture for startin' a spat.

I still remember the nationwide independant truckers strike in the 70's. The end result was that it helped bring the plight of owner/operators and higher fuel costs. This morning on the news it was stated that gas prices will hit $5 per gallon this summer.

I know if every rig in the country was parked for only 1 day it would be the lead story in every newspaper and TV station in the country. The oil companies would threaten to lay off refinery workers if it continued because they're going to cover their rear ends. As usual the truckers would get blamed for everything.
