1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

yeah, some of those steel hauling gigs are local, right? i have seen a lot of day cab flatbeds in the cleveland and youngstown area. how about castle metals? i have seen union stickers on those trucks, that probably pays halfway decent!

so, it's been a little while since i've posted on here. i got wind that the trash routes that went to cleveland and got me laid off came back to massillon. i called my old supervisor to see if they were hiring, he wasn't sure. got a call from him last thursday, he wanted to know if i was still interested in coming back."HEL YES" is the only thing that came out of my mouth. they know i'm a good worker. I filled out app over weekend and interviewed monday before i left for the road. still waiting to here back from them about the background check then need to schedule drugscreen and physical. can't wait to give up my short lived career on the road and be home everyday making more money than i am now. it might sound like i'm jumping the gun, but i know my records cleen. and i don't use drugs.

Yeah but how long is it gonna last this time....

You know how them contracts are, if someone comes in and will do it cheaper you'll be out again.

thanks already gone... i'm still waiting to hear from them about the background chk, going to be home early tomorrow and would like to get the drugscreen and physical done. and as or losing contracts... they don't do a whole lot of contracts anyway. the reason i got laidoff was due to boundries so the companies weren't doing the same town on the same day. well those routes came back to massillon and they are in need of another driver. gee which would you take 50-55,000 a yr or 35,000 a yr. no brainer in my book....

I'd just make sure the local job is stable before you make the jump! The job went away once, it can go away again...

Trash routes used to run by contracts, did they stop doing it that way?
