And if you ever get the chance at a factory rebuilt.... snag it!!! Had an 02 Shaker rebuilt. Only thing old on the truck was the cab! Just shy of a million miles on the frame, but it pulled like a draft horse and got great mileage while doing so. Looked ugly, but worked like an old Chevy!

i drove for swift for three in half years as an O/O i ran two accounts here in the northwest and had an awesome DM, Lewiston was my home terminal. i had great miles with them and was always home when i wanted to be and had to family emergencys with them and the load i was under was pulled in a matter of minutes and i was on my way home... i still think your DM will make or break you in that company...

i ran the 606 (sears acct) for the first year in half then when the economy really got bad that acct was slow so i switched to the 076 (kmart acct) and ran that till august of 2010 when i left the company for a company where im only gone 2 nights a week with weekends off... but if the situation arose i would go back to swift in a heartbeat

as for miles on sears i ran 2400 a week with great home time and 3300 a week on kmart less hometime of course...

as for the longhaul freight on the rail it is true but it happens with all the large company's and swift being #3 in size it is no surprise soo good luck if you go with it ill see you on the road if you come to the pacific northwest :biggrin_2551:
