Working Class Patriot and brsims Thank this. -
Before you criticize, how many of you all know the exact height of your truck? it use to be common to have decals with the height at one time on the dash of new trucks then on the door jam. Now seeing that information is usually in a Penske truck.
orion3814 Thanks this. -
oops
he must have been motoring pretty good to peel it all the way like that -
Hmm let's see, sign says 12'9" any driver should know that the majority of the boxes are 13'6" right? Yeaaaah. Either he was hauling some tail down the road and got it ripped all the way to the back, or thought that clunking and smashing noise was ok cause I'm still moving....... Dude could of contained and saved that trailer if he would have stopped and not ripped the #### thing all the way to the back. If I'm cruising down a road and see 12'9" I'm stopping I don't care who's behind me.
JimDriv3r and Working Class Patriot Thank this. -
That trailer posted at the beginning looks alot like a 53' long, 13'6" high, 102" wide trailer to me. Besides, I was always taught to know the equipment I was using, and the equipment I was pulling. And I can't see a single circumstance where a 13'6" high trailer is ever gonna fit under a 12'9" clearance bridge. Missing about 9" if my math is correct. Unless the bridge is mismarked due to snowpack (like NYC or Chicago). Still, driver's responsibility to be sure his equipment will pass before attempting to drive under a low bridge. BTDT. Difference is I stopped before I peeled my trailer back like a really expensive sardine can. Embarrassed? Sure. Still employed after the incident? You betcha. Think that driver up there in the beginning of the thread is still employed, or even employable in the near future? Methinks...NOT!

Fit under a Bridge on the BQE that was measured at only 12 ft. Thing was it only covered the Slow Lane. I was smart and got in the Hammer lane which was marked the Truck lane til we CLeared it.
