    Guys,

Wanna live in Powell, Wyoming after retiring from this steady job out in Oregon(at age 51); about 10 years to go. Seems like a long time to alot but really not to me with alot to think about.

Can't wait to get a new adventure driving trucks; always wanted to at some point in life......early on just not the right time. Got the wife on board with that location essentially too! I realize not much really up there (N. Wyoming)for industry and trucking companies to drive for but not too far from Billings, MT...............a good sized city. Training, hireablity at 51, hometime logistics, buy or rent a home and just jummpin' off this engineering tech. career and moving on, I have constant questions of.
Anyone trained and drive for Watkins/Sheppard out of Montana? A few terminals in Montana I take it! Billings, Missoula, Helena.

I have so many questions to get through and manage, to plan the later years of my working life in a field that I've always wanted to work in. Prefer to keep my future career driving Western 11....definately West of the Mississippi.

Got a buddy that drives for May company..........moved-on after work in the lumber/plywood mill in town here; he says he loves drivin'. Don't really get to talk to him alot but have called Farrell on the road for his thoughts to some of my questions.

This here, seems like a good forum for me to bounce ideas/experiences off you pro's!

    Thanks so much for input
    Mike.

Powell is a neat little town, I've been through there a couple of times definately in the middle of nowhere. I have an aunt and cousin that live in Cody, just down the hi-way.

..I can see why he wants to move to WY, no state income tax, only 4% sales tax (prescriptions & food exempt) & a fractional real estate tax based on 9.5% of market value, i.e a $100k home would be taxed on $9.5k of assessed value.. sounds good to me.

Plus lots of wind to fly kites in. :biggrin_255:

You may consider Interstate Distributors too. They run up in the NW a lot.

Thanks for the info on May trucking. I start school on the 24th of Jan and May Trucking is one of the schools that recruits out of the college I'm attending. I think from what I have read so far they are a pretty good company to work for and the yard is fairly close to where I live in Boise (45 minutes away in Payette Idaho)
Hope to see you on the road soon.

    Take care and drive safe.
