You 2 are a couple of sick and twisted individuals! Good thing I'm here to even things out!

Well so far so good. It's been a long 2 1/2 weeks but it's been good. I finsihed my level 2 certification today so I go on my own starting tomorrow. Which all works out because starting this week we will be working six 10 hr days. I love me some overtime!
Anyway I think I am going to really enjoy doing this. It is challenging yet it is enjoyable. I spend most of my days riding around in the county on back roads so not much traffic to speak of and most of the people I see and talk to are friendly and glad to see you when you get there. It's kind of nice for a change to show up somewhere and be welcomed instead of treated like your some sort criminal or total misfit. So far the most I have done in 1 day was 17 deliveries, 1 tank reload, and 137 miles!
Quite a change of pace and I like it!
Edit:
Don't make any mistakes about it this is hard work. Lugging around a large hose that is stiff and not very flexible in this cold weather, tromping through yards with dogs that your not sure if they are gonna bite you, attack you or lick you to death, lol. People that make your job harder than it should be because they try and hide there tank in trees or bushes or anything else that can make it a pain in the butt to get to them. Anyway just thought I'd throw out there that it's not perfect or easy by any means, but, it sure feels good to come home to my family, a hot home cooked meal and my own shower and bed every night. That trumps a lot of other things for sure in my book.Last edited: Jan 6, 2011

You can always open the bleeder to blast a dog if it gets too close!
YES, it is tough work dragging your hose all over town, glad you are enjoying it. -
Be careful dragging that hose! The driver who delivers to our house had some kind of accident a while back that involved propane spewing out of the hose while he was reeling it in. I don't know exactly what happened. He mistakenly went after the hose instead of shutting if off at the truck. He got hit with a stream of propane and had some pretty serious flash freezing injuries. He spent some time in the hospital, and is back to work now, but is sounds like the whole thing could have been avoided.
outerspacehillbilly Thanks this. -
I haul bulk propane and yes be very careful not to blast yourself, and get a nice pair of gloves. You'll need them.

Lol, yep that spraying the dog was one of the first things my trainer told me when we went out doing deliveries on my first day.
Yeah something doesn't sound right. Was he dragging the handle across the ground while reeling it up? We have Emergency Shut Off remote controls that we are required to keep on us at all times in case of a leak or uncontrolled release of product. Sounds like he did something wrong.
Yeah we got monkey grips which are great. Liquid proof and warm too.
Yeah definitely seasonal but I am working for the 2nd largest LP company in the country. I will do bulk still in the summer but will also do other things if it's slow, such as service and painting tanks. I'm going to take my certification test so I can do service and installations once our busy season slows down come April. -
Day one on my own was pretty quiet. Everything went smooth for the most part.
