Car attempting U-turn struck by semi

A car was hit by a semi tractor-trailer when the car's driver attempted to make a U-turn in the middle of the highway on Colo. 14 near Weld County Road 29 late Tuesday night.

Two cars were driving eastbound on Colo. 14 in front of the semi when they both attempted to turn around. The second car was struck by the semi from First Priority Trucking out of Springway, Mo.

The driver, an unidentified man, had to be extricated from the vehicle. Both he and the passenger, an unidentified woman, were taken to the hospital.

The accident caused traffic to back up on Colo. 14 about 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses on the scene said the people involved in the crash live near the site of the accident.

Reading all those accident reports I keep thinking, it's not bad drivers that kill you. It's STUPIDITY!
