Every person should (mandatory) drive with a trucker. My husbad has been driving for 8years now, I give props to the long timers. You put up with alot. I see these foolish people pull infront of these trucks and cause an accident behind them and don't even realize it, they keep on their merry way while the trucker is stuck to clean up a mess. What the hell is the matter with these people.

I seen a lot, and to the public and a few truck drivers, stop the f****** texting, can't it wait till you get to a stop light.

Also to the truckers, not every driver is stupid, Me, I know (well understand) what you guys go through, I try to give you the right away and let you pass so don't cut off everyone like that. If I did not let a truck in it is because I did not see your turn signal on.

Oh See I am soo nice! One day a driver from some where else I think Denver, was stopped, look like he was lost, so I passed the first time and noticed him, than half hour later I noticed him. He did not know where to go to get back to express way. So I helped him get back, I was afraid they would have robbed him if he sat to long. thats Chicago for you. Love my trucker

    to the op:
    1. Because in heavy east coast traffic, you get trapped in a lane, and it is near impossible to get back over unless you force it.

    2. lets say i want to only do 5 over the speed limit. But the right lane is clogged, so i pass them going 70 in the lefty lane. Then i get back over when the right lane is clear. But i still don't want to go 70, i want to get back down to 65. I guess i just don't want to be behind other traffic the whole way.

    3. When i see a truck that wants to get over, i will either speed up to get past him, or hold back and let him in. But sometimes you are indecisive as to which one you want to do.

    4. they are drafting. Drafting behind a truck can give you 25 percent better gas milage. not saying it is right, or safe, but if you are poor, it saves money.

    5. People who are not professional drivers just do not put that much thought into driving. to them it is just the way they get to work and nothing more.

    and another thing.
Where entering a multi-lane traffic circle, people here in Tx do not know how to drive in it.

The cars already in the circle do not just keep going when they see my trying to enter. I have to yeild, so keep going! if you just kept going, then i would not have to slow down, and could come in behind you.
but when you slam on your brakes, i have to slam on my brakes.

    Hey Ft worth, TX:
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY IN THE CIRCLE, KEEP GOING!!!!!

"It does not matter if I jeopardize the safety of the roadway as long as I can get to where I need to be in the time frame I have allowed."

Please do not ever leave your state....EVER. There are too many people like you. You share the roadway, you share the responsiblity of driving. Driving is a privilege...not a right.

For the few "professional drivers" that are still out on the road these days,
They take a whole lot more things into consideration while behind the wheel...ie, traffic conditions, weather, stupid drivers doing stupid things, speed, mpg, time management......most 4wheelers just take themselves into account..MOST...

If you are driving a vehicle............DONT......TEXT, EAT, MESS WITH THE RADIO, SEARCH THE WEB ON YOUR IPHONE, READ A BOOK, A NEWSPAPER, APPLY MAKEUP, DRIVE WITH YOUR KNEES WHILE YOU SMOKE/SHIFT GEARS ALL WHILE TO TAKE A PICTURE OF YOURSELF AND YOUR PASSENGER...AND LASTLY.....DONT FOLD YOUR LAUNDRY WHILE DRIVING(YES! i have seen this before)

    Thank you.

I'm sorry about any on-ramp merging snafu's that happen when I'm in the right lane. I have a split second to make a decision on what to do. Sometimes I make the right decision, sometimes I make the wrong decision.

As it goes, I see a car coming up to merge onto the interstate. I can't get over a lane so I have to make a split second decision. If I speed up, they speed up. If I slow down, they slow down. Some times they end up having to ride the shoulder a bit.

I don't do it on purpose. I'm trying to figure out what you want to do just as I'm sure you're trying to figure out what I'm trying to do.

and techinally the guy who is merging on the highway has the obligation to find a hole. The guy already in the right lane does not really have to let him in.

    it is the mergers problem.

Most of them do. Some states, like Illinois, think they can save money by not putting signs up.

BigRigBamaTrucker, I know I have seen a few states that do not have yeild signs. Not sure why they dont, but then again there are some states, like California that have the yeild signs, but they never listen to them.

By the way, I like the pic you have of the Military truck. I used to drive one of those when I was in the Marines.
