Doin great Klingon! Man, hearing you two (Kling and Ladyk) is like watching episodes of my life on the internet. You guys really bring back the memories! Hey LadyK tell Central you want to go to SLC for school. It's a hundred times better than Fontana. Tell them you want to be able to see your hubby more or something. Besides you will most likely be based out of SLC since you guys are a husband/wife team. Just a suggestion. So LadyK have you been looking at the different trucks? Any one particular you are really aiming for?

I don't know if they would ship me to SLC - that idea never came up - interesting idea - I will raise the question with them 'would it be easier for the COMPANY if I schooled/trained in SLC' - and see what they say. I haven't been looking at trucks yet - I just want one that will run - LOL! Oh and an APU would be nice - LOL - but I won't hold my breath. We already have a couple inverters from our 'jeeping' days - we used to do a 'Light Parade' during Christmas time - had over 5K lights on a Jeep - you could see us for MILES!! Just will need to 1) have them shipped to us or 2) swing by the house and pick them up.

Question - when you say 'based' out of SLC, that would just be where our DM is right? Or is that where they would try to give us 'home' time close to? Our 'home' time (at least until July/Aug) we were wanting to take just about anywhere we were at the time... that is how we are going to be able to 'sight see'. Those few days off we were going to see what ever was around us.

Everybody's home terminal with Central is SLC. I may have come though Conley, but it's not my home terminal. WVDC is. My DM is in WVDC too. Home time for me is still NC..

When you want to take home time you let your dm know where and when 9 days in advance. They should try to accommodate you, but it is not guaranteed.

Not sure how much it would matter, but she would end up with a Utah CDL and not a California.
Not sure what that does to CA. Residence status....

    My update....

Hello everyone... thank you for the Birthday wishes.
I spent it driving across IL, IN & all but about 30 miles of OH.
I am setting now at a truck stop about 50 miles from where we have to deliver waiting for a drop time.

we were to deliver on the 11th but it got pulled ahead a day because we were so far ahead of schedule. Anyway stuff happens.
Mike (my trainer) got mad... lol night before last, it snowed all night. Yesterday it was nice, sunny. Last night when he started to drive for (he stopped after 100 miles) it started to snow even harder than the night before... lol...
    Catch ya guys later...

    Hi Lady K,
Just wanted to update U on mine and hubby's progress.
He started school today. He is leaning toward applying for May Trucking once completed with schooling. We are very excited to see what adventures lye ahead.

So from what I've read, your having an exciting time on your new adventure?
You said you would be starting school in Jan, have you started?

Well, I will keep you posted on our progress, maybe I should start my own journey thread, there's a thought, :biggrin_25519:

The date as of right now is January 30th... and most likely (at this time) it will be in Fontana. However I have found that things change and don't always go as I plan it - LOL - God laughs at my plans - LOL! I think starting your own thread for your journey and adventures would be a great idea!! I love keeping tabs of folks and seeing how they are doing - kind of an interactive BLOG type of thing - LOL!

yes she would gt a utah liscence but all you haveto do is transfer it over to california she might have to retake the written some states make you do that after 30 days i think but not all georgia does not. central tries to get you home after upgrade so you can transfer the liscence.
