Yes the videos are a little old, the idea was to show just how easy it is to find all the info needed to make a good buy on a unit. While asking questions is always a good way to go, a simple youtube search will yeild many videos that can be seen of these units in action in real world driving, in most cases. But if I can post a few and do some of the leg work to help out my fellow drivers, I will.

....hope it doesn't "steer me wrong," right, Dieselboss?

Don't know anything about that one. But I do know that as long as it is just another tool in your tool bag, and does NOT replace your eyes and your brains, it should help!Buckeye 'bedder Thanks this.

Think of your GPS device as a pop quiz device, "should you go this way or not"

It will be a very useful addition to your bag of tricks. Everything that you can gather around you that makes your life out on the road easier and more profitable is a good thing, and the TND fits into that category admirably way more often than not. The areas where it excels and those where is needs improvement are well documented on this forum and elsewhere and all I can say is that they continue to listen to the drivers and improve per the feedback. Plus the members of this forum have a direct line to Rand that others do not in Mark. Give me a call when you get it if you are wondering how to set it up for your personal preferences, or how to update it. As long as you don't have one of the new laptops that it has trouble connecting with then we'll be fine in that regard.

Now go to http://trucking.randmcnally.com/ctonline/products/intelliroute_tnd/tnd_dock.jsp and download the newest Dock application, run an update and then back up the unit to your computer if you can. Always best to have a complete backup of a "fresh" version. In the future you can always run periodic backups of your address book and custom places, mileage logs, etc too.
Thanks! (yes, we are giving away the new 2011 truck services directories with all GPS orders.) In the world of all of this technology it still doesn't hurt to have good old paper on hand still.Gears, Mark Kling and Buckeye 'bedder Thank this.
