Worst truck stop you have been to

The old Monteagle TS on I-24 before they tore it down..what a rat-hole.

These are a few of the ones I did not feel very safe at.

One time I was at the Pilot in Florance, SC, think it was the one at the X164. I was taking a shower and when I got ready to dry off. The big towel had those nasty kinky black people hairs all over it. It was so nasty I almost gagged. I ended up having to dry off on toilet paper. When I got back to my truck I called Pilots corporate headquarters and reported it to them and they put 3 free showers on my card. I never used the shower at that one ever again.

I think I would say that, I desperately tried to avoid ANY TRUCK STOPS in Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago/Gary, L.A., Birmingham or Pittsburg. I would do whatever driving I had to do to stop somewhere else.

 

The old Bingo fuel stop in Ontario Ca that is now Ontario mills Mall. I think they found Charles Manson hiding out there.

 

Little trk stop across the street from Campbells soup in Maxton, NC. Lot lizards galore, knocking on trk all night!!!!

 

Weird. I've been to the Atlanta Petro several times and never had a problem. Those Pilots were scary and I've only stayed there once. Same with Dallas. Stayed at the TA. Never had a problem. Now that Pilot near the Werner terminal..that was rather sketchy. I felt safer at the terminal and even then it wasn't much safer....

 

I had some thug come up to me one evening at the truckers entrance of the ATL Petro trying to sell me drugs as I walked in. Wont never forget that. I just said no thank you and walked on in thinking, wow. People really desperate trying to sell drugs. I didnt like having to pay to park either, and at the time that Petro you had to pay to park unless you got fuel that is.

I used to hear women asking for rides at that Pilot in Dallas and Werner drivers would be at the terminal and say heck yeah Im headed to Phoenix, Ill give you a ride. I really didnt think they were seriously, but one morning I saw a Werner bobtail come over and pick up some random women that was beating on my door earlier that morning.

 

I think out of any truckstop that I've ever been in, the people at that 49'er were the rudest, most arrogant SOBs I ever met in my life. Especially that redheaded waitress that worked there in the early 2000s.
