First off, this is NOT a thread to discuss whats bad about leaseing and to rant about "fleese" deals.
I have a couple questions for Actual Stevens Lease Ops.
As far as the warranty on the truck. Have any of you had any problems that were NOT covered under the warranty?
As for the 4 cpm Maintanance acct you have to have, has that always been enough to cover your maintanance needs or have you had to come out of pocket on top of that?

So far, Pat had been very good on the warranty items due me. I can't complain. He even went to bat on all those switches and repairs on my APU and got them refunded to me from TK.
I haven't been leasing long enough to answer your second question, but I did ask that same question myself of a few LO's at the yard before I signed and they all (about 8 of them) told me they hadn't used all their reserves before.
I suspect (hope) it's dialed in about right. -
I have had all warranty issues handled quickly and fairly. Had 2 on my t2000, and none so far on the T660. Due to a winter mistake on my part, my reserve account did not cover the expenses when I turned in the t2000, and got my t660. My fuel jelled up in WYoming at 30 below, and I had to be towed in, total cost $1800. Then $2200 in "repairs" that Stevens deemed necessary on the T2000, to bring it back to their Standards when I turned it in. They loaned me the $1200 I was short, and I paid it back at $100 per week.
So with out the tow bill and repairs, I would have had some left in my maintenance account when I switched trucks. Will see as time comes for tires, DPF cleaning. -

ad 1. Yes. With my old truck I've had to get my APU repaired 5x. Warranty covered only part of it. It reduced my maintenance escrow to approx 50%. Then I turned it in and they charged me over $3,000 to fix non-existent damages. That happened approx 4 months ago. I still havent seen the itemized bill. I assume they changed all tires.
ad 2. No. See above. It wiped out my acct. I still owe them approx 500. -
Remember, you have a 100% bumper to bumper warranty on all the stuff is not broken. it all expires the moment it breaks.

It was supposed to be humor. However I can see how it was taken wrong because I didn't put the smiley at the end. If I have an issue with anyone, it was more Kenworth than stevens. My 09 t2000 ran well but when you get a new truck you get two of them. One on delivery and the second one part at a time.
Also, thermo king, the apu, a 6000 item has only a 30 day warranty. After that all repairs are expensive. Stevens is better than anyone else out there with warranties, but it's also like being the cleanest dump in town. (not equating stevens to a dump). Certain things are considered acceptable in trucking that would not be tolerated elsewhere. One of these are bumper to bumper warranties that don't cover certain things like wires, even though the way they were stranded didn't allow for flexibility causing all kinds of trouble.
As for stevens response to these issues, they did cover most things, and even went some extra distance on towing charges (which are not covered by warranty) -
And by the way although I have left trucking entirely and have landd squarely on my feet in banking (as an it guy). I still have many friends here and can still offer good advise and realistic feedback of not just life in trucking, but life from the outside looking in. I can share memories, good and bad and when I finish my book, I'll share some of that too.
