Attending TDDS in Lake Milton Oh on Jan 31 anyone else

I just started TDDS on the 17th.

The housing isn't to bad. Yes you have to share a room. They say they have internet THROUGHOUT the housing but that isn't true. He said it only goes to room 5 or so. I'm in room 5 and can't get it. You can get online in the main room. They have a few microwaves in the "rec room" type area, some coffeemakers, a pool table, a ping pong table, a treadmill, another type of table game can't recall what it is, a weight bench type of thing, a few couches and a TV. There is tables in there so you can come in with your computer and get online. There is also a phone and you're allowed to make one free phone call a day. This area shuts down at 11pm. Outside there's a bbq, a basketball court, a few balls, the laundry room, and a truck for you to practice your pre-trip inspection.

In the room there is a fridge, it's like a regular size. There is a small wardrobe closet. There is one desk with a chair, a 5 drawer dresser, 2 beds, 2 end tables, 2 lamps, and a cheap TV cart. If you are planning on bringing an alarm clock that plugs in and a cellphone charger you might want to bring a power strip. With my lamp plugged in I only have 1 outlet available. The mattresses are horrible, and talking to my classmates, mine isn't the only one. Bring some kind of "egg shell" pad or whatever, it might help, maybe. The bathroom is a toilet, a sink, and a shower/tub. You can't have any type of cooking devices in your room. A guy in my class made coffee monday morning in his room, monday when he came home the coffee maker was removed and notes left on everyones doors stating the rules.

People in class compare it to prison, and I don't think they're that far off.

Now the school is cool. I'm pretty sure my instructor will be yours, because we're moving to another class. He seems like a good guy. Two things to remember in his classroom, don't fall asleep and put your phone on silent. I like to think that we're learning a lot. We took a General Knowledge test today. I missed 4 out of 50 questions. Make sure you spend a couple of hours in the evening looking through your books, if you're in housing you won't really have anything to do anyway. Classes are Monday-Thurs. They start at 7am and you're out at 3:15 unless there is a recruiter. We've seen 2 so far, and beware, they're long winded. We didn't get out until after 4 with both of them. Our DOT physical was scheduled for the second day of class but the school was closed so it was postponed. I don't really know what else I can tell you. I just finished my first week, but if you have any questions I'll see if I can answer them for you.

 

Hey guys! good luck! my husband just graduated from TDDS in september. He got pre-hired by swift but ended up with TMC. He was very pleased with the prgram!

 

How is he liking TMC? They were the first recruiters that came in for us.

 

Yes we're off on those days. There is like 23 people all together, we're split into two classrooms. There's 11 in my class, including myself. Our first day they said this was a big class and that's why they split us up. There was supposed to be like another people who didn't bother to show up. I don't think that your class will be that big because you guys will, most likely, be in one classroom. Make sure you crack the books if you want to get into TMC. Their recruiter told us you have to finish the program with a 90% to qualify.
