I faxed my application in today. I have been talking to Brian. I have talked to several drivers and most had good things to say about JBS. Hoping to start with them soon. I never get home with the company I am with now. I live in florida, so I know freight can be hard to deal with down here. Was told JBS has a distribution center in central florida, so freight would not be a problem.

You work there one year, you take your 10 days vacation. What happens to the truck while you are on vacation. Do you think that it would just sit there waiting for you to return. No. It will be re-assigned. When you return, you are assigned another truck. This is what I was trying to do.scottied67 Thanks this.

I also think 3 weeks of down time is excessive. Afraid with times as they are the line is long. And it is business. Maybe you could rethink your schedule? Good Luck! Your right about your reasons for safety on the road.

Thanks, wish that I could, but after almost 5 years fighting with the government trying to get her Visa, that is not an option. Back to plan B, become a lease operator, and be responsible for the payments on the truck while out of the country. And it would also be cold on my part to finally get her here, and even before a chance to settle in, okay honey, pack your bags again, time to travel.

Hey well if you work there than great you already know that there are just a handfull of open trucks right now. Not sure where anyones is getting information on a bunch of empty trucks. There are trucks that are parked at the yard that are open and there are others that are parked there while their drivers are on home time. Pretty straight forward info.rickway65 Thanks this.

Great advice coming down from the U.P!

JBS hauls thier own products. Everyone eats some type of meat, the way I see it, this driver will always have a job. I also see JBS as a proactive company. I know some of you will disagree. We must first agree to disagree. From what I understand, the way trucking companies are operated today is quite different than 3-5 years ago. And it will change again, you either, leed, follow or get off the road.

I have heard that many of the new trucks are Kenworth T-700's

Does Jbs use speedco for their pm? Also what about truck washes. How often and where? Blue beacon account or?? Do they do alot of preplans or wait and see once you send in empty call?? Much deadheading to pick up another load or drop and hook?are those cummins in the 387 or? Thanks for any answers to these few questions and please add any relevant info you think might be helpful...keep the post coming and good luck to all!!
