How often in a week do you start on 3rd shift, in two days go to first shift and then go back to 3rd shift again?

    i don't know....

what i do know is, if one is a local driver and comes back late, many times he is told to come in the next day a few hours later. this is so he gets his 10 hour break at least...

if one drives over the road (OTR) you're driving around the clock pretty much.

No shift work in OTR. This little thing called deregulation is what the driver managers will throw in your face if you start complaining about having to drive all hours of the day and night. An eververying schedule is a part of the OTR driving job. Don't have to like it, ya just have to do it.

I usually don't use 1st...too low a gear...but I will often start out in 2nd if I have a heavy load..but when I have a really light load I will use 3rd...and it won't matter at all what time of day or night it is either!:yes2557:

it depends on how much weight your hauling and the terrain that you driving and also the type of transmision

If you're really heavy it's not advised to skip gears like that.
Bobtail you could get away with it though.
