same here. I was in Denver a few days back, just before i headed thru that snowstorm in NE....anyway, a guy leasing a T2000 came in with the gladhand and spring from his service line. Said he needed a new one. Filled out a form, got in line, etc. I was standing there waiting for my truck to get work when he pulled in. I asked "so got a problem with your air line, huh?" He says, "yep". when i asked if he had any spares, he said, "its their truck, let them fix it."
i wonder if the goofus realizes that he will be paying for it. $20 for the line, and another $20-40 for shop work. $50-60 out of pocket for a job he could have done himself, and bought an airline for a spare for $15.
he didnt look too bright..... -
Is that a fact? Well I suppose we all have to take your word on that and be grateful for your generosity.
Hopefully, after you have been out here a little while, maybe you will loosen up a little and quit being so hard core.
Everybody isn't as inferior as you think they are. -
I just snugged it up. wiped it down good. I didn't have RTV. The bolts were loose. I also had some Fast Orange to help with the clean up. When I got near a scale i re-cleaned it.

My company shop guy said "don't worry about it", despite going from Charlotte to Detroit, and reloading somewhere up here to go back to OKC. He said the same thing about 2 drive tires that have lost part of their retread surface - about 2" all the way around on one, about 1" all the way around on another.
They also refused to fix an exhaust leak that puts fumes into the cab - forget about idling while stationary when it's cold, it'll choke you out in 10 minutes - they didn't want to spend the money at another shop. -
Doesn't that kind of jeopardize your cdl driving record, not to mention your life and everyone else out on the road near you?
I think I'd be taking pictures and making notes, along with calling his boss.

The DM blew me off, the shop guy blew me off, but the safety guy prompted me to go to a shop as soon as I'm unloaded. I will, of course. I've NEVER been with a company where getting things like this fixed was EVER a problem.

Kinda like how some on here will automaticly see a Swift truck, and think the driver is nothing but a non-mirror watchin, trailer door ripper-offer or pretty chrome fender bender.
But I could care less about the name on the side of the door, i look at HOW the driver presents themselves....professionaly.... -
OK, got the leaking flexpipe (fumes in the cab) fixed by the nice folks at the TA in Monroe, MI this evening. See the attached photo - that's exactly how it was sitting on the truck, with that 1/2" gap, blowing exhaust out. Well, duh. And to think that our shop checked it out and couldn't find anything - twice - once on the inspection after the previous driver left, and once after I wrote it up for an exhaust leak.
