got my cdl..sent out app's... what should i expect next?

The only time you pay the company is when they pre-pay(their school) for your cdl training. If you have your cdl then you do not need their school. Although they have the apprenticeship (have CDL) that asks you to sign a 1 year contract? Not sure what thats all about but I can see where your confusion is coming from... Have you spoken directly with them yet? I would need some clarification as to why I need to sign a contract with them if they are not paying for my CDL school.

The options for you when you graduate from the Wil-Trans Apprentice Program are to become either a company driver or to be a lease operator.

Basically they are saying that they are providing you with real world training beyond cdl school so you OWE them..... What a bunch of crap.
That whole thing looks like a brainwashing to get you to buy into their lease purchase plan. They even state that You can be an Owner Operator in as little as 6.5 months.

Looks like they think they are gods gift to the trucking world and they deserve to be paid for teaching you what every other driver mill does. Its not enough that you would be working for peanuts which you expect just starting out but they also want you to pay for it by signing a one year contract with them... Geeez I hate corporations. They will prey on people that are desparate just so they can show a profit. One day there will be an uprising to the government and corporate control of the working man. He can only be abused for sooooo long...

 

rayfan, is this a employment contract/agreement ?
are they compensating you for coming to work for them ?

as a trainee you work at reduced wage/CPM.

Thats typicaly the price for school.... Something just isn't right here. There has to be some confusion on what you have/want and what they are offering. Have you actually spoken to someone and stated that you HAVE your cdl?

Because the freight here is cheaper and most companies say they cant promise to get you home I talked to a company a few days ago out of tampa and they said they cant hire me cause i live in north florida and to get to orlando they have to drive past my home geeesh.I had to laugh at the guy and told him to learn how to read a map

 

Roadmaster wants $6495 & says (on the phone) that the co.'s that hire will reimburse 90% back. "# $150/mo that's a 3 yr commitment", I said to the RM guy on the phone. He says," well,,,they have incentive/bonus programs ....that help payoff the bill....
