i see on the website there are terminals in birmingham and mobile, alabama.
I am from Prattville, just north of montgomery, if i was to drive for pgt would i be able to pick which terminal i wanted to be based out of, considering montgomery is kinda smack dab in the middle. Would i be able to take the tractor/trailer home with me for home time or would i have to leave it at a yard or T/S?

    Hey Wolfy

What does your drivers do about heat in the winter and a/c in summer do you run apu's or are they allowed to idle or do they just stick it out? Also I noticed on the web site no mods to trucks can they not have refrigerators or change out head unit for stereo as long as they keep original to put back in when the time comes?

Since you can take the truck and trailer home with you over the weekend, it really doesn't matter where you are domiciled. However, we do try to domicile you out of the closest terminal to your home.

You can have certain mods put in but they need to be authorized mods and must be done throughour shop. We do not have apu's but we dont expect you to freeze or get heat exhaution. (I think I spelled that right, lol). But we do ask that our drivers are conscious of fuel because of the ever increasing fuel prices.

Thanks Wolfy, that is certainly understandable. Just some companies no matter how hot or cold it is ... sorry about your luck .. lol and thats no way to treat someone that is making your company money.

Is PGT military reserves friendly? I have drill the first weekend of every month back here in Norfolk VA and the annual training once a year for 2 weeks.

How is this accepted or not, and if so, will I get to keep my same truck, (especially concerned about the 2 week's away for annual training)

    Thank you

PGT is Reserves friendly. We appreciate your service also. Thank you dodge24v.

guy99zer - i cannot answer any questions about Melton. I hear they are a good company to work for also. In my opinion you should call both PGT Trucking and Melton and compare what they have to offer. Basically what best suites your lifestyle.

Verizon is by far the best for the areas you run with PGT.
