god help the country.. sending you kids to a better school so they can hopefuly make something of them selfs when they are older and you get sent to jail.. I know they put laws in place for a reason but come on, would they rather the kids end up in the droping out begging for change and living on the streets or i coverment houseing. Hell I think the costs of them going to the better school would be less then them having to milk the system in 2 -10 years.

the judge should be made to go to that school for a week--now if the mother was indebt up to her eyeballs--home getting forclosed , just so she could live in that area she would be ok
but just because she lives withinn her means--she and the kids end up getting screwed---the #### trial and PI cost more than the education would have--for that money they could have sent the kids to college

Yeah, this was all over the local news last week. The prosecutor in Akron has been brutal and trying to make a name for herself for years. She would charge and prosecute a 7 year old with felony theft for stealing a box of Milk Duds if she could get away with it!

I have alot that I want to say about the article, but my thoughts on the matter as well as my fiery temper aren't exactly non-NSFW material to post comments on regarding the above. I will say this though: this country needs help.

The jurors apparently felt that the trial was bogus to begin with. Yeah, punish those that break the law, but trying to send someone off for 10 years for something minor is a little extreme. Maybe it's good that I don't live in Ohio? Seems like a giant paradise of ######## to me. :biggrin_25510:

Ohio is a great state, but like every other state when it comes to large cities and politics and the court system, the public will get reamed.

Our town just kicks them out and sends them a bill for tuition costs. If they don't or can't pay the bill I think they just drop the case.Jail time for this offense is extreme IMO.

she was apparently sent the bills for Tuition which went unpaid and brought about this entire case.. no school just randomly hires someone to double check everyone lives in the right place to go there.

It shouldn't have mattered at all since the father lived and payed taxes in that area. Whose kids was he paying for if not his own?
