Start orientation on monday(31st) but what should i bring with me?

    hello,

    as the topic says i start my orientation on monday and my recruiter didnt tell me what all to bring with me except "Be prepared to start work after orientation. When you go with your trianer, take with you at 8 days worth of clothing, personal belongings and a blanket and pillow or sleeping bag.".

    so my question is what else should i bring with me. i know that i will need my drivers license and social security card. and should i take my birth certificate? and i am not on any meds so i shouldn't need to get anything from a doctor and since i haven't actually been to see a doctor in forever i hope i don't need to go find one before i go. lol. i already have my cdl class a but i havent been on the road since 2007/2008 and i have to take the road test and go out with a mentor for a while. also how long is orientation normal and then how long will i be out with a mentor?

    i was told that you are with the mentor for 4 to 6 weeks. you should take money with you on-tell you get your first check

    Congrats foxtrot. I might recommend passport if you have one in case of Canada. I am really not sure. I have been seeing some companies say that bring either birth certificate of passport. Not sure about Swift

    Take the following with you in a duffel or a bag that collapses:

    Six- eight days of clothing
    Gloves for fueling and pulling the fifth wheel
    Dr. Releases if you are on any medications
    Truckers atlas
    Flip flops for the showers
    Travel size tooth paste, deodorant, tooth brush, razors,
    Body Wash: Trust me when I say bars of soap and trucks do not go together
    Gym bag for dirty clothes or garbage bags
    Car Air Fresheners for them since they get stinky
    Cell phone with charger
    CD's (swift does not provide hook ups for mp3's)
    Edit: money until you get your first pay check.

    Optional ones:

    100 watt plug in inverter for charging cell phones
    Magazine or two
    Book

    A heavy coat, gloves, a few pairs of jeans or whatever kind of long pants you like to wear. Some bed cloths. Socks and underwear, of course. 5 or 6 shirts - long sleeve this time of year. All your toiletry stuff: toothbrush/tooth paste, shower shoes, and stuff like that. Notepad and pens. Ear plugs, pillow, sleeping bag or sheets/blanket. A book or 2.

    Stuff like that. And of course some cash.

    Your recruiter didn't do their job then, they are supposed to email you or mail you a form with info about orientation that will list times/places/numbers/what to bring etc and make sure you know what to do. Since swift hires many weekly they do have these already prepared.

    that part in quoted text i have in my orignal post is all that the recruter told me to bring and i thought it semd kinda little so i thought i would dubble check on here just in case there was some other stuff i should take.

    I think my orientation list is outdated but heres the basics:

    [FONT=&quot]Social Security Card (not laminated) and/or Certified copy of Birth Certificate[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]Alien Registration Card (if applicable)[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]Any medical documentation stating medical conditions that may exist[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]Pen (black ink)[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]Pad for notes[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]Alarm clock to wake you up at the hotel[/FONT]
