I went back and read my post, mean? where?

1. Arrived home day after day requested.
Most truckers would be very happy to get home the same week as requested.

2. Had to clean own truck
No comment needed.

3. Slow cancelling health insurance
Welcome to the corporate world. There are specific dates and specific reasons needed to cancel benefits, read the HR book.

4. Fined for taking truck home without permission.
They could have had the guy arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft.

That's it right? I didn't miss anything? Are you serious?
I'd call the governer and get the National Guard out, #### I'd take them to court for the horrible way you have been treated.:biggrin_25517:

My opinion that none of the above reasons warrant his rant with a little scarcasm thrown in. [IMG]

Sincerely. <<trying not to be rude.
Mike.

I'm assuming you were able to get home to see your family. Two times home on a the weekend out of 5 months is unacceptable dispatching. I can't see my children on Monday - Friday. I have a short window of opportunity on the weekends scheduled and I can understand not making it home sometimes, that being an exception not the rule. Sorry not accepting any blame here.

Assuming those figures are truthful and accurate (and don't take it wrong, but things do get stretched), you are correct...2 times in 5 months is indeed not acceptable.

Yes your summary didn't include the fact they lie about the mileage pay until you reach orientation..,but let me guess, that's my fault as well because I should understand that everyone today lies to you today that's the American...ooops Corporate way???? :biggrin_25510:

Here's to your corporate rules....when you cancel insurance during orientation not after the fact and follow the guidelines given you in doing so it should not have taken from August till November to get it cancelled and even at that time it took a fight because they wanted to extend it until January. They make the rules as they go and its all to shaft the drivers who are making them money. Get your facts straight before you start dialoguing.

Hey, tell you what. We're getting ready to start a new trucking company, and we're looking for drivers. Maybe I could hire you.

No problem here. We'll only hire ex-drivers to do orientation; after all, drivers never lie.

No problem here! All of our miles are going to be the same length!

We can do that. If freight comes in and it conflicts with your schedule, we'll just let another carrier take it. Nothing is more important than your home time.

You can come in Tuesday, if you want, or Wednesday. Shoot, just stop by and start work on Friday. We'll get you home by the weekend.

We won't do that to ya. You won't even need to set an alarm clock. If we've got freight, we'll simply ask the customer to wait until you get out of bed.

Well, as any good trucking company should know, the driver's family comes before freight. Maybe we could print that on the back of our trailers.

You actually complained to your dispatcher about your family problems? Wow. Well, OK, if we get tight on time, we will just hire a helicopter to fly you to the ex's house. That should give you two extra hours.

They should have dropped everything when you told them that you were changing your mind.

Yes, and you should have been his first priority.

We will install a special telephone so that you can leave continuous messages.

We would never make you wait until open enrollment to cancel your insurance. In fact, why don't you just not worry about it until you get sick? Just give us a call from the hospital, and we'll start your health insurance on the spot.

That's awful. We'll park your truck right outside of the orientation class, and it will be there waiting for you.

I was gonna promise you a brand new truck, but I'm beginning to wonder whether or not you would be happy with a brand new one. How about if I scrub every inch of it with a toothbrush for you?

That's certainly right; after all, it's your truck. No wait, no it isn't. You're confusing me...why did you do that again?

We will pay you to dead head home, or anywhere else you want to go, as long as you make sure to refuse a load. How does 52 cents a dead head mile sound, or do you want a fuel surcharge too?

We're professionals, and we're looking for professionals like you to work for us. I think this could be the start of something great...we won't get much freight hauled, but that's OK. You will see your children, your truck will be nice and clean, you can sleep in Mondays, and bobtail wherever you want to go, on our nickel.

What are your salary requirements?

Morella: I really hope you are just being REAL sarcastic in that last post!

My last GOOD company (New Risin Fenix was a BFI below bottom feeder so they will never get a "good company" rating from me if he ever opens his doors again as leopards never change their spots, but the one before them O&S was fine till the end!)
I was home 95% of the time when I asked for it before I got on a dedicated then I was home every Thursday after noon or Friday till Sun AM.

If I wanted to drop health insurance there is NO date for that! It must be dropped when you told them to drop it! That's with any insurance out there! No company can force you to keep paying for insurance. That's why it's called Open ENROLLMENT! Not Open dropping! If they insist that you can't drop your insurance contact the State Insurance Commissioner and watch how fast things change OR the FBI and ask about the RICO Act, as well, they ARE stealing your money when you don't want it taken out of your paycheck! And screw Obama's plan where you get jail time for not having insurance! That ARSE can kiss my royal red arse to think I HAVE to pay insurance! I'll get insurance if and when I want it! Freaking Moron! Ops sorry I slipped into politics?

I was NEVER called at home to get a load until my home time was almost over then it was the best dispatcher I ever had that would call and give me a heads up on my load or an early information on it or IF I wanted it which was usually a NYC load that some whiny arsed L/P or O/O "That I don't do NYC" turned down! But I was never called and "given a must get er done crapola call!"

Yes you CAN scrub that skank from a spineless smokers habit out of the truck before I climb in it and have to breath that funk, again, of a wuss who has no backbone and a habit worse that cocaine just smellier! If you're really going to start a company then designate a truck non smoking or smoking and then hire on a smoker/non basis! Hint: a truck that never had a smoker in it will have a much higher resale value AND your insurance premiums will be lower if you have nonsmokers! It a money deal and I hope you're in this to make and keep your money!

Telephone calls should be returned from a company! If they neglected to call me after repeated attempts to get answers that needed to be answered I would have thanked them for a nice waste of my time, given them back that copy of an apparent waste of paper company book and anything else they handed me for orientation and got in my car or on the bike and headed home. That simple!

When I ask during a phone interview about a pay scale that sliding BS should have been told right then! Not after wasting the applicants time making a worthless trip or your time and money getting him there only to find out he's not as stupid as those that stayed for a rip off "sliding pay scale!" That's a joke in it's self! Sliding pay! Heck I'd be refusing loads till I got one that went across town! What bull! If the car salesperson, errr, oops recruiter was to tell me sliding pay scale, that's as far as my interviewing that company would go and that is question number 3 on MY list of questions to ask on the phone interview right after #2 which is "How much do you pay per mile loaded and MT?"! Why waste that much time with a phone stuck in your ear? Oh, question one is "Are you hiring experienced drivers with over 30 years behind the wheel?" Why beat around the bush! If you're going to drive for free my questions #'s 2&3 you would not ask anyway!

Yeah, that was wrong of him to head home. I'll give you that one and the charge of deadhead. That was a really stupid mistake or choice.
