I'm a company driver who Primarily gets sent to fuel at Loves. Pilot a bit less and since a lot of J are Pilot owned the occasional J.
If I'm SENT there I have little choice.
When I look for a place to roost first thing I check in the TS book is size. I will not bother with a small Loves or Pilot. Next thing is what kind of fast food. I get sick and tired of Subway and Chesters!
I tend to stop at TA and Petro from time to time too.
One thing I GOTTA have is Wifi! It's a bit under 5 bucks for 24 hours at most.
I too tip a couple bucks for a clean satisfying shower.
What do you look for in a truck stop?

Well lit
clean
must look like it's in decent repair
friendly staff
decent food. -
clean showers
clean bathrooms with ventalation
proper fuel prices
mom and pop restraunt a real sit down look at the menu restraunt
security that roams around the lot looking for lot lizards and other riff raff
ample parking
the amnitie (barberm, stylist, gym, luonge area for non smokers and smokers, message area)
vet for the trucker that has pets
dentist
mechanic for repairs
and a real grocery not a convenace store -
Pay at the pump & a home style SIT DOWN resturant with prefferably a buffet. Not a fast food joint. Also I like the driver payback rewards points. Loves pays .01 per gallon.
