3 JB hunt recruiters have told me in one day they don't have idle restrictions. I find this hard to believe. Anyone have any info on this subject

They may be referring to their lease trucks. It seems like when I was there, 03-05, my dispatcher was always bothering me about the idle. It could have changed.

But I think that is partly why I went lease at the time, and to get a faster truck. I did lease for my last 6 months there and left. And they did not screw me on that. I just decided not to continue with it. I got all my escrow and maintenance account money back.

i find that hard to believe, we go by % of idle times on our drivers. if my driver goes above his idle % i counsel him, and by that i say hey please try to keep the idling down. sometimes i get " who the ##$% do you think you are ? i say ok have a nice day :biggrin_2559:

"No who do you think you are? A dispatcher? Please............. If someone like you wasnt protected by so much plexi glass I would take that qualcom and cram it down your throat......"

well where i work there is no glass no sliding glass windows, no walls
its a complete open door policy to all drivers meaning if any of my drivers or any driver has a issue with me or just wants to meet me and say hi, all they have to do is come to the operations bldg on the campus and walk up to my desk. scary huh ? :biggrin_2559: thats why befoe i start talking to my drivers on the phone the first thing i do is check there sattillite location.

Firecaptain, I've only been with JB for 4weeks now, and you dont hear much about idle. My truck has a bunk heater that works fine. If its very cold, like 15 or 20 degrees that want you to idle the truck. I've had to idle mine a few times. I would rather use the bunk heater anyway because I dont like a vibrating bed.

My husband has worked for J.B. Hunt for six years. They have a percent that your not suppose to go over, but nobody really says anything to him if he does.
