Redd: the comments regarding rule-making was sent out from Swift with the instructions I posted here. Since they so adamantly oppose the new proposed rules and invited drivers to put their names to the opposition.....
Why the hell would they delete and forget about the people who agree with them and "sign" their names to it?
Regarding Maptuit: I was forced to use this disaster just today. There was no phone number to call this customer, the address does not exist in my Google maps...yes, current version...and Maptuit tells me to go west on Hwy 29(?) In Ohio off I-70, exit 80. If I go "west" on that highway from eastbound 70, it would mean turning left over the freeway and going "north." Instead, as I was exiting the freeway, I noticed a water tower on my right indicating an industrial park. Well, I know there are at least places I can turn around in an industrial park, so I went opposite where Maptuit (Macro 12) told me to go. And drove right to my receiver.
We are talking about a lot of drivers with not much experience. Most of them would have come to that intersection and sat there wondering what next...in a best-case scenario. Worst case? Take a left and head out into the Tooleys.
Come on! Turn "west" on a north-south highway? Gotta love Maptuit. Give me back Macro 23. -
Do you want to be grouped in with a thousand other drivers on making one comment? Or do you want your thought, opinions, & comments to be heard by making your own comment on the FMSCA website?
I don't trust anyone to speak for me. If you do that is fine. Accept Swifts offer. But me personally, I speak for myself & made my own contribution to the FMCSA website.Injun, hammer head mn and JustSonny Thank this. -
Mac 23 ...good ridence..those dang instructions are messed up most of the time....go down 1/2 block t/l (east) after rr tracs take 3rd left before the kangaroo on right then go under overpass to lite (n) t/l and shipper on west side of moon....see ya mac 23...rip

when i was with swift i was always bumping my 70 and rolling over constantly.. it comes down to those who work and run hard and those who stop and every truck stop and bs all day -
i hope for all the swifties out here that maptuit is a whole lot better than it use to be
it use to route you onto restricted roads and bridges and my fav dead ends... -
Maptuit is more disasters waiting to happen, now even more so than ever a truck routing gps should be put in the trucks if they want us to use that crap. I have my own truck gps, it ain't perfect but way better than maptuit. Craptuit is a mess of roads all put together as directions, say I'm going east on I80 every little road will be shown on the directions that connects to 80, eg. I80, IA45, IA12,US77, I80 when it could easily just say I80 east to exit 24, TR to white metal bldg approx 3miles rhs, like macro 23 would have. What a mess.
Maybe they are doing it cause maptuit uses less characters and they get charged for every character via qualcom msg's. Horrible decision Swift WTH!!! -
I say 23 was very, very good far more often than she was horrid. She is one more tool where the QC fuel route is always incomplete, the phone number with the load is wrong or unattended, the person on the other end doesn't speak English or can't comprehend the difference between a big truck and a car, the MC atlas doesn't have the detail and online maps give an approximate or no location at all. It's a tool. One more helpful tool. It helps to eliminate doubt, it creates certainty, saves time and completes the picture. And, sometimes, it leaves you no better off than you were when you started, so you use more tools.
For now, my kit is one tool short.Last edited: Jan 30, 2011

23 was a lot better than kraptoit. Occasional screw ups but we had the opportunity to send in a correction.
My favorite 23 response was "exit **, you'll see store on your right". I go to the exit and the "store" was a right turn off the exit, travel 3 miles over a hill and through 10 traffic lights to find the store on the right....
I should have used my laptop. -
Like the women that I have been married to in the past...I believe every word my GPS says...we know how that is gonna turn out in the end...even a womans voice...oh my....just sayin'
