Jacksonville, Florida looking for long term work OTR.
Just Graduated National Training in Green Cove Springs Florida on 1-21-2011
I Am looking for the right opportunity. I have a pre hire with Warner trucking out of Lakeland Florida.
Just don't know if this would be the right choice for me from what I am reading a lot of unsatisfied people out there. I don't mind being OTR driver have pass - port for any area.
Can any professional trucker's give me some sound advise?
Also during any orientation process How much cash should I bring with me and what other stuff will I need to bring and do I pack light or bring more then I need for about 20 days worth.
Any advise would be greatly apprehended.
Thanks
Starting out for rookies

My 30 years in a Land Surveying career dried up with this mortgage mess. I tried some sales jobs and that was not my style.
Passed my written Illinois exam yesterday and got an hour in the truck today with Eagle School. Looking forward to my next three weeks of driving/learning.
I have a ton to read here to help choose a company. Not sure the wife will like me being gone so much, but the mortgage needs to be paid and trucking is the only thing hiring. And dang, it was fun just going back and forth in the lot!!!!

Think I think I narrowed it down maybe Roehl Transport or USA Trucking or
Comcar CT CTL,
Just need a little input from you guys.
I know I cant afford to make a bad decision at least not one as important as this one.
So anyone with experience with any of these Transport companies please advise if you can.
I know that someone has the scoop on these corporations so please spill the beans if you don't mind. -
Well hopefully I did not make a mistake picking Roehl Transport. Dam cant believe I went from having a Top Secret clearance and making over a three hundard thousand a year to making a small 275.00 dollars a week and begging for a job that may pay me less then 1000 dollars a week after 6 weeks. I would definitely do it another way if I could do it all over again.
I always thought why make it for someone else when you could make it for yourself , after owning my own corporation for over 20 years how could this be possible.
Well men and lady's a peace of advise, never I mean never give up your dream just keep a sure thing in your sight and don't give up your dreams.
Well there may be an alternative does anyone have a number for over seas trucking maybe a web sight that is not full of crap? If so please let me know Many thanks for your input.
