I am just about finished up with my trucking class and was wondering about good trucking companies in the Northeast Region. I've been checking out companies on line for a while. I've joined this website to hopefully read some POSITIVE comments about companies. I'm not to concerned about making loads of money (no pun intended!) I'd just like to find a company that takes care of their drivers and values the importance of family. Thanks for any information that you share. Logan

Your best bet would be to go through the company dac reports. It's one link above new drivers questions on the main page. All the good and bad for all of them is right there. And the company's website will tell you if you're in their hiring area. Best of luck to ya!

If you look threw this trucking board most of the people either live Midwest or South East, hardly any north east driver's on here, and I am trying to figure out why? I live North East also.

simple, I live in the northeast also, It's because we're not in a lot of the companies hiring range. The freight lanes up here suck and it's harder to get loads in and out so it's harder for the companies to get you home. There are still some but it's definitely harder for us. Southeast and midwest are the ideal areas to live to do trucking so that's why most truckers seem to be from there.

That's waht made me hopeful at first too. Too bad we were both wrong! lol. Central ref looks like they hire in most areas but their pay is crap. I figured that when I start applying I'm gonna look for companies with yards within a few hours of my house. If I have to I'll volunteer to use the yard as my home base and commute to and from with my vehicle. Not that I want to be home much anyway. I think it might help but who knows.:biggrin_255:

BS, plenty goes IN, hardly anything OUT, they all want there supplies, but are not trucker friendly, one day someone will get smart, say pays double to go there, in the mean time........I REFUSE to go there untill they make it trucker friendly, no big loss I know, long as theres a desperate driver that don't know better, they'll get there stuff and make it hard on em too.......

I have to disagree. There are hundreds of trucking companies that hire in the NE and run their frieght through here. I believe the main reason no-one wants to run here is because of the traffic and tolls.
