As someone potentially entering the business, I have a question about bad weather. With this huge snow storm hitting 2/3rd's of the country the next few days, do you, like a ships captain, head for safe port? Other words, do you communicate with your company and tell them you're shutting down somewhere safe?
Really bad weather

Yeah, if you don't communicate with dispatch there are generally problems. Let them know anytime you feel its not safe to run. If you feel pressured all the time get with safety,if that doesn't help start looking for a new company.

It depends on how bad the storm is for me, I'm used to snow so I'll run in it. But if I can't maintain at least 40-45 I'll park till it clears up, an if you are going to be delayed you would want to let your dispatcher know about it.
