That is what I want to do. Take anything I cannot afford to lose to a relative I trust. Board up the windows and shut it down. My neighbors will watch for suspicious activity.

I don't want to sell the property. The house is right down on the corner of two roads. I want to build a retirement cabin back in the woods. Anyways, If I lose a truck to live, I need someplace to go.

About the pipes, just insulate around them.

Foam insulation works wonders. but before you insulate around pipes, double check to see if it meets building codes.

Violating building codes via DIY mistakes, can result in losing the home via the county. Ensure an ELECTRICIAN that is LICENSED installs anyform of electrical heaters. (Or better yet, an Licensed HVACR Tech) in or around your pipes. Why? It's not hard to create an electrical fire. If one does occur, it goes on the guy who installed them.
Just wanted to put that out there.

I'm not saying to get rid of the wood heat altogether,...But it would be a way to keep things from freezing up when your gone,..

If anyone reading this wanted to just live in a truck, then getting a "permanent address" would be as easy as $100 a year......

These are not that complicated. It looks like a flat extension cord with a regular 3 prong plug on one end. That'd be kind of like hiring an electrician to plug in a string of christmas lights for you.
