Having hauled OD freight myself there is no excuse for this. ANY OD hauler worth a tinker's darn would have checked his load before heading out, twice if need be.

    No sympathy from me.

Yup, those overpasses are just such a darn nuisance aren't they? Here in Langley BC in the past two years we have had a couple get dinged. One of them got royally clobbered by a truck carrying an excavator-luckily no one following got hurt, as chunks were torn out and hit the highway. Now, when you drive over the overpass, there is one side blocked off, and they have rigged a signal system up top so everyone takes turns going through the one side.

Hey Brickman! Have you been up our way anywhere where this "love" for making "roundabouts" instead of having signaled intersections has been "activated"? Here in BC, it seems like the politicians, provincial and municipal have decided to make roundabouts the new fashion statement for anyplace where two roads meet. For the US truckers coming out of Vancouver, via highway 99, there is one that they must "thread" as they turn off to go to the border. A lot of the US bound truckers come out highway one, and then off to the border on highway 15--just past the scale. but an equal number seem to come by the 99. No need to "thread the needle" coming to border via number 1 and highway 15. There is one place in Langley where folks come to the little cafe at the bottom of a hill on a main road, and sit on the patio with their coffee just to watch the action at the roundabout. Hubby and I sat there the other day and watched a truck with a 53 foot van try to get around the darn thing. On Saturday night the teenagers like to go around the thing three or four times, just to frustrate drivers waiting to enter the thing. Yup, makes life interesting.
