I wanted to Drive when i was 16, during the summer i rode with a family friend.
This was when i got introduced to liquor, Pot and women and we had all three in the truck. I did knot know better at the time but it was fun!. we would run out of king shrimp in brunswick Ga up to new york.

We had about 12 stops along the way. the guy never had a log book and I don't remember many weight stations. I do remember him getting a ticket for the log book, but back then it just was not that bad.

we did stop in Atlanta GA one day on another load. he showed me the hot spots.. well were the prostitutes were at, and man, it was amazing to a 16yo! we walked into a strip joint to cash a 100 bill, we were the only white people in there! but he got the 100 broke and i got to see some t and a for the first time. looking back i am very surprised no one said anything about my age.

well he moved and i got a job at a local mobile home dealership. I was 19 at the time
back then your cdl was a class 5 no A. so there I was at 19 with a class 5 and pulling oversize loads. I did this untill the rules changed and everyone with a class 5 license
had to change over to a class A. I had just stopped pulling mobile homes so i let the endorsement go. Long story short in 2003 i got my cdl back.

    U4EA Thanks this.

My grandparents owned a furniture store with five delivery trucks. Occasionally, a truck would pick me up on Saturday morning when I was five or six. Coffee breaks were the best part. I learned that the trip recorder would keep on ticking while parked if the truck was stopped very suddenly.

Same hear. I grew up in the produce business spotting trailers on my summer vacations at my families produce company in Hunts Point Market. At 13 years old I was spotting trailers at the loading dock. I knew how to back up long before I knew how to go straight in one of these things. That was 42 years ago and I've been driving trucks ever since I got out of college in 1978.
