CCC has a couple other fleets under its wing, and one of those has blue power units. I think this is Sunflower, but that company may have gone out of business or been consolidated into another CCC company called Shaeffer. Or maybe it's Shaeffer that got absorbed by Sunflower. I can't remember exactly which it is. Both of those companies' rigs were/are blue.
Crete also has a flatbed sister/daughter company by the name of Hunt that's based in Omaha. Don't know much about them, save for the fact the terminal in Omaha is pretty small. I don't know if this is the only Hunt terminal. If you see a flatbed rig sitting at a CCC terminal someday, it'll have Hunt written on the door. -
I drove for them,they were ok.Better than CR England,JB Hunt and Barr-Nunn.

So far from what I have seen, Crete seems to be the best. Yesterday I went up to do my interview with Janele the terminal manager and she gave me tons of information that will help me on my way before I reach Nebraska. After that She and Darwin the Assistant terminal manager took me to lunch and they talked to me, not at me, I felt very comfortable with them. I took my road test and when that was done the driver shook my hand and said wecome aboard. I met one guy that left and did not like the company he went with and was coming back, they were giving him a new truck and he should be leaving for Lincoln today. From everything I have seen, I definitealy made the right decision. I am waiting for my UA results to come back and should be on the road by the weekend
and in Nebraska in 8 weeks
Good luck to all of you and please keep it safe.f -
Those are all new trucks. Many aren't even lettered yet. The Blue ones are Schaffer (reefer division). Thoses trucks are replacing trucks currently on the road when they hit a designated number of miles or they time out

Crete is a good company, Nick. Like I said, it was one of the best I worked for. I quit Crete, but this is because I got tired of trucking. Crete is a great company, actually, and I'd recommend them to anyone. However, of late they seem have gone down hill a little because of that accident in Florida last year. That's fine, though. Those guys will get it straightened out. Crete really does try to please its drivers within reason. Sometimes CCC will bend over backwards some for drivers.
Janell is a great manager. She'll work with you and treat you with respect, but you have to do the same. And she definitely doesn't take any ########, which makes her probably one of the best terminal managers at CCC. Whining drivers expecting special treatment don't last long with her, meaning you won't have to worry about other drivers sluffing crappy runs off on you. She doesn't tolerate that baloney. If Janell would have been my terminal manager at Swift, I may have lasted a year there.
I remember Darwin there as well. I tried to think of that guys' name. He's a good ol' boy.
Keep us posted. -
All the tractors sitting at Lincoln are 07s with the 06 engines, (before new emmision regulations). By the way there are about as many sitting in Marietta.
Correct on the blue tractors but I've seen some blue ones with the Crete name on them. Maybe the mechanic was color blind, beats me.
The Sunflower company has gone by the wayside, folded into Schaffer but there are still some of their trailer being pulled -
I know Sunflower was rumoured to be going down while I worked at CCC in 2002. That rumour turned out to be true if Sunflower got absorbed.
The Marietta terminal can't hold too many sitting trucks, if I remember correctly. It's a fairly big lot, but not that big. Unless the new trucks are being parked in the lot about 150 yards directly in front of the fuel pumps above the garage area. That's some good space for them. -
Remember when you came off the fuel island and went around the end of the shop to get out? There was a drive streight ahead of you on the North side of the yard that ran East beyond the parking area? We have about 15 acre dirt (gravel) yard back there for the new trucks and old trucks waiting for trade or return.
Quit an improvent, when I came on most of the parking area was taken up by trucks waiting to be returned or have equipment pulled to be returned.

well I just submitted an application to Crete so we will see what they have to offer. I have an offer pending on my house in WI and am moving to TX so I need to finda a job that I can run from that area and my current job can not. Too bad, I hate to loose my job and I know I will not be able to touch the money I make now anywhere else.
DO you guys know what there pay rate is for an experienced driver? There website dosn't give a breakdwn but I have over 12 years exp.
