I don't even think Mr. Fuel is a real person, but I could be wrong.

now if we could just get some decent food at the TA, and get them to fix up their older places it may be worth stopping at.

I don't do food. Never have. But as you can imagine I eat at TA sites frequently. In my opinion the "Foodies" as we call them have made some massive improvements over time.

Since TA became public in 2008 or so, and Capital became available, we have spent millions on imrovements. You don't have to trust me on that. You can look at our financials on the web and slice us and dice us any way you want. Those improvements continue year after year and we will eventually get to all sites.

Full service truckstops, (Ones that don't want you to fuel and die - in that order), cost a ton more to build, operate and maintain. If we were operating convenience stores with fuel pumps, our lives would be alot easier and drivers would have a lot less choices. We are willing to take on the challenge of being full service.

We are the fusion of about seven chains, and yes, we have many old sites that need attention. We are working hard to get where we need to be.

So CaptainQ, when are you going to bring more than one to Canada? We could use some actual truck stops a little more frequently up here. :biggrin_25519:

well mabey you can pass on a tip.

the Troutdale OR ta is one that is a bit rough around the edges, not bad other then the hotel tho. But their restaurant is great. Sure the menu is the same old TA fare that is pumped into all the TA's BUT they always have a special that they make in house, their soups are made in house. They have seasonal fish specials and these are all EXCELLENT. everyone I know will only eat the specials and not touch the "TA menu items"
I think that should be fallowed by all the restaurants. Them people are forced to cook the TA food so they really don't care how it turns out but if you give them a chance to be creative you'd be surprised what they can probably come up with

The economy needs to show sustained improvement before we start looking at new sites. I am not aware of any possible new sites in Canada, but then again, the company does many things without telling me.:biggrin_25519:

And he did! Well, I'm satisfied with his follow up. May have been mistaken about the amount of points to begin with, but they were short.... He caught the mistake, made it right and threw in a few extra. Nice guy. TA is fortunate to have this type of person working for them. I like those that actually care!

Very nice that you got all fixed up! This kind of attitude and help could stand to be passed on down the line at all truck stop chains. A little bit of helpful service and showing that you actually want a drivers business can go a long way towards getting repeat business....and word of mouth travels fast amongst truck drievrs.

He's a real person. Like I said, I do have true satisfaction from my original concern. He is one of the good ones.
