RESALE KW gets better resale, but i think pete makes up for it on initial price differences so pretty close. and no you can't get a bare 660 sorry day cab or sometimes you get the base chassis. from which would have an open back so you wont have to pay for the ext daycab panel. then slap on whatever you want.

Just a thought. Have you looked into the W900B? Im not just saying this cuz I have one. lol. Still get classic styling w/ little shorter wheelbase and turning radius. This w/ 86" sleeper would be a little more managable in tight spots. I work mine heavy hauling in canadian oilpatch and dont have a bad thing to say about it. its an 04 and still very tight after a lot of off road. you wont see that in any freightliner. I work beside them and hear the complaining of them being "shook" way too soon. Id check on the 244 wheelbase thing closer if i was you. the only time ive ever heard that come into play is pulling super b trains. because you are limited to 82' over all with them. Look up the public scale in BALZAC alberta and give them a shout about the wheelbase issue. we have lots of trucks in the patch at 260" plus. Good luck making the right KW choice. haha.

You can get T660's with 86in studio and a 244in wheel base. Do a search and if you can not find them, order them. I agree with the members who say KW's are high in resale. Any search will show similar Freightliners, volvos and others trucks priced less than similarly spec'd KW's and Petes.

Hey, "CAPTAIN OBVIOUS"......... "Thanks" for the valuable info.

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would reply to some of the comments about wheelbase in Canada.
I agree with W900B. We have trucks with 260" and 275" wheelbase go to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia every week with 48' trailers. They get checked by the dot occasionally and never have a problem. -
Does anybody have any thoughts on the new w900 I've heard mixed reviews on the motor thanks

one of my first questions would be are you going to run into ca? if not I would look a building a truck from the ground up. or a glider kit. put a none egr motor in it build the rest of it how ever u want. would not cost anymore than a new truck and less problems. easyer and cheaper to get repaired. I would put a cat 6nz in it backed by 13 spd 3.55 rears 11 r 22.5. t-600 or 660 should do 7 mpg or better. that's running big power 850 hp w/the right tune and build. plus its a millon mile motor. you could do the same w/ a w900 or 379 mpg also the same. has to be driven right. you need to find a balance between style and pay plus how the driver is treated to keep a good driver. a little less money in your pocket ever week to keep a good driver will pay for it self over time.
