They have to give you a ride home. Bus, airplane, whatever. It's the law. Never believe a recruiter. Lower than a honey dripper lawyer. This guy jumped in thinking you just ride and blab on the CB and count the money. Not how it works. There will be great times and others when you will wonder how the Hell you got there. Got to learn to take a deep breath and swallow it and when it's time to fight.

The plain fact is, no matter how much thought you put into OTR. It's not going to be how you think. I don't want to sound cold, especially since I have no love for TMC, but you sound like a unflexable baby. Do you think you're the first driver to have to be away from home for long periods of time and to quit because a recruiter lied..............That's funny. All recruiters lie, thats their job. There are decent companies to work for, but you might have to work for a garbage company first. Good luck, but maybe OTR isn't for you.

I don't think there's any law stating companies have to get you anywhere after being denied employment.
-
hubby drives for them. sounds like not much has changed. -
I was actually told that I was overqualified to drive for TMC!!!! Is it possible to be overqualified for a driving job???? Maybe I just knew a little too much for them to be comfortable with. Its not so easy to pull the wool over a drivers eyes when they know something about the business.
-
Is this all for real. Is TMC really that bad? I'm under the impression that TMC is the type of company that will pay it's driver for the work they put forth. What's the deal with TMC's percentage pay per load? Any experience with that?
-
Are they that bad? Who could say for sure, some drivers love it there and some hated it. One thing is for sure, since I started driving in 1992 I have never seen when they havent been hiring. If I am not mistaken one of the catagories for their percentage program is truck revenue. That isnt something a driver cannot control without sacrificing hometime. Why punish drivers for that? Nice trucks if you like pulling lumber, steel, hay, plastic pipe, steel pipe or shingles.
-
Their percentage pay starts at 23%. There are may bonus items you can get to increase the percentage. Things like truck revenue, fuel mileage, appearance, and endorsements all earn you points. Then there is a scale of how many points per percentage point increase.
-
hubby up to 26% now, after 2 months. And believe me, he is definitely sacrificing the home time. doesn't have much of a choice there.

My advice is, don't go with TMC. They fired me for poor safety when they were just trying to get rid of 1000 drivers. This was during the slow spring of 2009. I had an accident, which the police didn't cite me for, and TMC didn't either. When I was let go, they put on my DAC, I hit a parked vehicle, which is a lie. These guys are tools. Since I have had a perfect safety record and their lie still haunts my record. DONT TRUST THE SHINEY CHROME>>>>>>>>.
