It's not the miles that get me, I don't mind them, it's the constant game of playing catch up and never seeming to get there that gets stressful. It's a mix of different circumstances that lead to the stress of this job, but in the end I have to look at it as job security.

That's a great attitude,it shows you have a good work ethic and take a lot of pride in your job.I hope your boss appreciates it.Just try to keep the stress at a manageable level, too much is not good for your health.
I bring back deliveries all the time because I run out of time to get to them.As long as I feel that I did my best that day, then I have nothing to apologize for. -
Do they hire from Indiana?
-
No, they only hire out of north central Florida and up I-75 towards Macon, although we do run up that way we are southeast based carrier.

I carry my own plan with Blue Cross, have been since the age of 18. I know the cost for individual is fairly reasonable, but I think family cost is pretty high, I really don't know what's comparable because it's just my wife and I and both of us have our own plans outside of work. Our frameless drivers do the best on average company wide as far as income is concerned. You being in Gainesville is a plus as far as hiring is concerned, pay varies whichever division you're in, Tallahassee pays me well but I know wood chips and stuff like that are not the best paying loads out there. Any other questions you want to discuss just shoot me an email since you can't PM yet, Millersod215@yahoo.com, my name is Zach, anything I can help you with let me know.

preciate the responce.....gotta do something, mine just went to 125 a week for just me and the wife and its crappy coverage on top of that. Guess its better than none.... but just barely. Would like to find something local, but I dought Im gonna do be able to make what I need to for that. Used to work for Montgomery Bulk and was doin pretty good untill they pulled the plug a couple of yrs ago, oh well....guess Ill keep lookin. Thanks again bro

I wanna say coverage for you and your wife is around 120 weekly, see that's why I say I'm not real versed on what's high and what's reasonable, I didn't realize you were paying that for just yourself. Pritchett has some other good benefit programs, weekly bonuses as well as quarterly bonuses, they don't skimp on their bonuses, I made $4,400 last year in bonus money, and a few hundred extra for passed DOT inspections. Feel free to contact me outside of this board if I can help, I've been here 3 years now so I can answer most of the questions you might have. On another note, I had a friend who worked for Montgomery Bulk up until the end as well, said they were good to him and he'd go back in a heartbeat if they re-opened.

Still super busy over here, logged just a little over 2,800 miles this past week and pulled 19 loads for my best week yet since being employed with Pritchett, $1,110.00! One thing I've learned in my short career is that money isn't everything, sure it's nice, but a life at home is nice too. I might be a local driver but I look back on the days I ran regional for the company and can honestly say I had a better way of life back then, maybe there's a change on the horizon? It's hard to say, but I know I would like for things to change a little, this giving my whole life to the truck thing is getting a little tiresome, but no pain no gain. BTW, most all of these loads have been "poo" loads, the sale of Fiber One must be on the rise in Tallahassee.
Dark_Majesty_06 and 123456 Thank this. -
