    Hi,

    It has been a long time since I have posted on this forum. I am hoping I can get some advice. My brother just got his CDL and he lives in the Phoenix area. Can I get some advice on decent companies for a new driver out of his area? He will do local or OTR, he just needs to get started. I drove for Roehl, but they don’t hire newbe’s out of Arizona.

    You have quite a few choices you have marten transport swift knight and western express he's better off with swift or knight for training since there main terminals aare out of phoenix

    USXpress and Watkins Shephard will hire new CDL holders from Phx. And of course Swift, Werner and Digby Southwest will too, if one chooses to go that route. Knight Transportation, Knight Refrigerated and Marten are hiring as well but require at least 3-6 months OTR experience.

    There's a bunch in PHX, let me put my brain into gear. Tru-Line, Ruan, Bjorn Petersen, First Fleet, May, McKelvey, Swift, Knight, FMF Const, Heartland Express, plus a few more, including a dirt operation in Mesa, can't think of their name. Oh, yeah, Duncan and Sons, they do containers to Long Beach. Good luck.

    Watkins Shepard has a terminal in Phoenix, check them out as there is very little negative about them!...If you have any questions, PM me for number and I'd be glad to answer of your questions about them!

    I am enrolled in driving school starting monday it is 4 weeks long out of tucson I wonder if they would hire from tucson?

    Knight has a training program called Squire. U go with a trainer for 4-6 weeks then do solo time (up to 3 mos) then u can transfer to OTR fulltime. Knight Refrigerated has the same program. Any questions u can post on here and i can answer them. Nero
