my finace has been working for Prime now for a year and is struggling...it seems everytime he comes home even for only 3 days it takes a good solid month to get back on his feet...so he stays out there for 5 weeks at a time and still only comes home for 3 days....so now hes thinking about going to ATS who promises good pay and good hometime...but Im affraid he may find it will be just as bad if not worse..does anyone know anything about ATS or any helpful tips on to solve this problem.. hes strongly thinking about going to ATS...is this the right way to go????????
is Prime a better company then ATS??

I looked at ATS. I should have went with them instead of prime, but I didn't. Look up terry lamar on here. He is with ATS. He could tell you more about them. He was with TMC before ATS.

I'm assuming he's leasing a truck? If so, some of the lease guys here might be able to give some feedback. But is he dead set on leasing? I do pretty well on the company side and go home every 4ish weeks and take a full 4 days off, not including my arrival and departure days. Maybe he's more suited to driving company instead of lease?
Just a thought. I do wish you both the best of luck. -
SO what is the real issue? Is it that his miles are averaging only 1800 a week? Is it because he dosn't make enough money to pay his bills? Are his bills higher than they should be? Example... house payment, car payment, credit card maxed, toy payment ect... Or is he an O/O that might need some fine tuning on his business? What is he spending per week while he is on the road? If he is eating every meal at a T.S. then I'm sure he is spending a couple off dollars a week on that and it can add up!!
Need to decide what it is before someone can help. -
great response eveyone is so quick to blame company instead of looking in mirror

I have talked with many lease drivers, always ask the same question how ya doin money wise. Seldom will you get a straight answer. And if they say great but can't seem to come up with the numbers.. Half of them can't answer how much they took home last year. Sorry state of affairs with the lease side... Risk and Reward, mostly Risk, your at the mercy of your fleet manager to keep you out of the hole, I would not call that running your own company, so get off that high horse crappola idea that you run your own.
