Honestly with trucks, it boils down to driving style. What size Cats? That will affect fuel economy as well. Aeordynamically, the KW looks to have a slight advantage. However, if you drive it like a hotrod, that Classic will beat it in no time.

Be real careful with any 07' model. That was the year the fuel emissions changed and all trucks were redesigned from the ground up. I had three brand new ones that year two Volvo's and one KW and couldn't keep any of them out of the shop!

Why are you buying a truck in this economy.. I hope you are not going in debt to much.. Do you have some where to lease it already.. ?

Actully I will be paying cash that way will not have payments to worry about atleast for the truck part. And I'm thinking of leasing with Schneider National. Thanks Chompi but I thought the fuel Emission changed in the 2008 I might be wrong or it might be have been in 2008 here in Canada. I know someone who had 2008 KW 2008 and samething with him too he couldn't keep the truck out of the shop. If you don't mind can you please tell me what kind of issuses you were having with the trucks

There is also a canadian section of the forum,
that might assist you . -
You need a lot more info than year and motor brand.
Tire size, rear end ratio, application, what model CAT motor, frame length, type of trailer you intend to pull.......
But the absolute biggest plus or minus to fuel mileage is the loose nut behind the wheel. I know guys with "bricks" (W900,359,379) doing well into the 7's, and guys with those Prostars struggling to maintain 6 because they spec'ed them wrong.chauhanprv Thanks this. -
Thats good about the money and no payments.. I'd say go for it but watch those taxes and save back for them. With not much depreciation they could be high.
Also might I say it might be more important to buy a truck that someone in your town knows how to work on it. I know that's bad grammar. We have a terrible time getting our truck worked on by someone that knows what they are doing.
I think that is the biggest problem in trucking more than taxes or anything. finding some that can fix a problem when you have one.

IF they are speced the same and they are driven the same. Everything being the exact same. The T600 is lighter and more aerodynamic. So thus the T600 would get better mileage if the rear end, motor, tranny, tire sizes ect are all the same.
But to me the T600 too cramp inside. I all ways felt like I was in a sardine can in them. The way the inside is laid out just made me feel cramp. I was surprised on how much stuff I could fit into the things and how much storage space they have for how tiny they felt. But I know others that love them and don't get that feeling. But then again I do stay out for about 1 year at a time.chauhanprv Thanks this. -
They changed in 2007. It even tells you on the ULSD pumps. The first year of any change over is when you get stuff where the bugs aren't worked out yet. Like FD said, driving style has a major influence. So does the engine. I wouldn't let body style hold you back. You buy something that's 4 years old is when you start buying a bunch of parts too. Why don't you put a big downpayment on something a year old? The new ISX at 65mph is putting out better than 7.0 mpg.chauhanprv Thanks this.
