Hey Sarge yeah I heard the rumor about getting part of the pay cut from other drivers so you know how it is when it comes to rumors. That's good to hear about the new equipment. I'm sure you've dealt with them but as far as the dispatchers, I really like the ones they have for the Midwest region.... Reggie, Mike, Bob, and Chrissy all seem to be real good people and easy to get along with in my opinion. I did 8 stops in the Chicago area today so you are right LTL can be very demanding but I am getting the hang of it real quick. It helps too when you got dispatchers who will work with you as well.

We drive for Western. Average Miles Team per week 4000-5000. Some Canada. Equipment KW Studio Sleepers. You need a GPS and at least one cellphone in the job. No forced routing, no unnecessary beeps on the qualcomm. No EOBRs. Prepass gets us through most scales except W and OR. LTL goes everywhere, average load 4 stops. We sling chains. But if the roads are bad our word is respected. Pay every Friday, paid days off, paid holidays, we put in our time off request 2 wks in advance and go home, they don't call you back early. Pay is right on. When we get on the East Coast we load in Westampton. No problem,. Need aq repair, no problem. Negatives - sometimes you wait to get loaded in the terminal - but think about it - it is relative to the freight getting there and being reloaded.
I'll answer any questions.MoneyCat Thanks this. -

LTL Orientation was changed from Monday's to Tuesday's, so tomorrow is a travel day
then
.
Physical & Drug test Tues morning, followed by The start of Orientation
.
Will post updates as time permits. -
Day 1 of Orientation in the books.
So far, so good.
Physical was a standard DOT... There was no kinetics testing which I read about in a previous post. -
NCT PA how did you do in orientation? Are you rolling now? Just an update... down here to unload in Southern Indiana in the morning and then head over to Evansville for a backhaul to the Philly area. Doing good here, money is real good. You definitely will work for to earn it, but it's worth it

So far, I think I am going to like it here.
Orientation went well, except that the truck I was assigned needed a starter, and then the mechanic discovered that the oil cooler was leaking and wouldn't have the parts til Monday... so I got dispatched in a different truck.
I hope I am able to keep the one I was initially assigned when it is fixed.
I am home right now.
Was able to pass the house en route to my stops.
1st one delivers Monday at 0600 in Knoxville, TN.
Just a 5 stopper, but I am 78,500 Lbs.
Final in Rossville, GA with a 1600 apt.
Don't know where I may end up when empty. I have a heater Trailer.LooneyTune Thanks this. -
Might send you over to a small town just north of Macon called McIntyre. There you would load stuff for Crayola in Bethlehem.
-
So far I like it.
Was empty by 2PM today.
In Decatur, AL for a morning P/U going to Jersey.
I talked to another driver that was picking up a crayola load for PA.
