APU when buying a truck or not?

    Many of the big companies will do this because at this stage you get nothing for the APU. Maybe a bump on tractor value because it had an APU but few people want to buy the used APU headache. So they have trained people on staff to install them at a cost of less than $400 and if unit is older then you can still part it out.

    And I am thinking that companies like Arrow would rather not have used APUs. So many problems.

    If you get an EPA mandated truck, you will need an APU, it is not recommended to idle them.

    Myself, I just had a new ThermoKing Tri-Pac installed, replacing a 2007 unit, I would not own a truck without one. No matter what year, this is my fifth one.
