Please Point Me in The Right Direction...

Hi all,

While yes, I'm new comming back into the industry, (aprox 10 years since I stepped out) I've been back in the saddle about 4-5 months now & I'd really like to find what I had when I stepped out of the truck way back when (children were born & was needed closer to home).

What I did back then was piggy backing the new big rigs to various companies, setting up the schedual for the lift truck upon delivery, going back to either the airport or rental car, head back home or to my next turn around.

Since then, now , I've looked for those companies (contractors) and they no longer exist. I really liked this sort of thing, as one, 95% of the time, all of my trucks were brand new, Never really had to lug around a bunch of crap in the truck, just a duffle bag for clothes & toiletries. Most trips were over 2500 miles one way, home most weekends,

When there weren't any new trucks to be delivered, I would go & retrieve abandoned rigs left by the road side or # truck stops by their previous drivers, for what ever reason. Yes, a lot of time they were nasty inside. Sometimes, the driver that stepped out of it, left many nice things either because he could not cary it all or what ever. Guess who got to keep it? (Made a lot of extra money doing that)

Anyway, I'd like to try & get back into either of those slots, but with the waythings have changed,I'm not really sure as to where to look or what I would have to do to qualify for them.. I have my hazmat, twic, passport, tanker endorsements / cards. Never a so much as a speeding ticket EVER, so needless to say a truely clean MVR/dac.

Could someone please point me in the right direction? I live in NC just north of Charlotte.
